The Blackberry Inn Bed & Breakfast

I travelled by myself but spent my time in a city close by visiting my daughter at school. The Inn was exactly what I needed - someplace beautiful, quiet, and safe! The room was perfect - all was very comfortable and clean. I slept great! Breakfast in the morning at their nearby cafe was delicious!

Awesome little gem of a place with a great location, convenient to most restaurants in downtown Watkins Glen. The breakfasts were delicious. Rooms were nice and innkeepers were welcoming. If we travel back to this area in the future, we will definitely make The Blackberry Inn B&B a stop on the trip.

Bed was fantastic! Brian was the perfect host and very interesting to talk with! Breakfast was second to none!!!! The location was perfect with respect to restaurants, the falls, shopping--all within walking distance. Only complaint was the inn could have been tidied up a bit (dusty, dust bunnies, cob webs, etc.).

Just completed another wonderful long weekend. Brian & David are the consummate hosts. The beautiful Greek Revival home has 3 guest rooms, each spacious, attractive and meticulously clean. This visit we opted to have breakfast at their shop The Blackberry Kitchen, a nice three block stroll to and down Franklin Street. This allowed us to eat on our schedule and choose custom made breakfast sandwiches on fresh, authentic in-house NY style bagels. There's a great selection of muffins and pastries too choose from and great coffee. Here you'll see Brian, David, Dominick and Chad ensure your day is off to a great start. Perfect location, clean and comfortable rooms with great home made breakfast... You can't ask for more.

Our family of 5 had the BEST experience at the Blackberry Inn. Hosts David and Brian have a beautiful, historic home in the perfect location for exploring the Finger Lakes. We originally chose the traditional breakfast option at the Inn (which was delicious) but ended up eating most of our meals at their amazing cafe (Blackberry Inn Kitchen) within walking distance (for the flexibility of time and the variety each family member could choose). Coziest home in the coziest town and the perfect home base for all our activities (Watkins Glen State Park, Captain Bills sunset cruise, FL Rail Riders, Shtayburne Farm Creamery, Adventure Calls Rafting, Corning Glass Museum, wineries/breweries...just to name a few) 110% would recommend!!!

The place has some definitely pros and cons: Pros - Flexible check-in time. We knew we would be arriving outside of the normal 2p-6p timeframe and chose this place in particular because of the check-in process. Most places had a very strict check-in time. Here they have keypads so you can arrive and enter at your leisure. - great location. Walkable to all of Watkins Glen - very comfortable beds - great breakfast and option to eat at their cafe - Large bathroom (although having a chair sitting across from the toilet is a bit creepy) Cons - Did not appreciate waking up to their dog barking every morning - no blackout blinds, so room is very bright very early in the morning - outside of the house is quite unkept. Grass and shrubs very overgrown. Front porch is dirty. Doesn't look like the outside was touched at all this entire year. - You can hear those speaking in rooms beside you and below quite clearly (as well as tvs) Would I stay there again? For the convenience and location, yes. Otherwise probably not.
