This one of the most magical places my family and my myself have ever stayed. When we got to Zanzibar we were on search of a true 5 star resort and Bawe island resort is it!! It’s an absolute stunning resort with a beautiful beach with Seychelles like waters. The pool was amazing. The whole place had a calm tranquil feeling. It’s so clean and well groomed. Our guest Room was gorgeous and decorated so well. The furnishing were beautiful everything was perfect down to the small details. Staff was constantly around to make sure you were always well taken care of. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a resort where I was so well taken care of. It made the vacation. Drinks were some of the best I’ve ever had thanks to Ju. He actually made our stay very fun with all his new cocktails he’d make up for us. Truly great at his job. My 3 boys loved kids camp and the lovely gal who ran it my kids still talk about her and the fact they got to play Fortnite. We also had Asifiwe, who helped us out with alllllll our resort questions and needs thank you Asifiwe. Restaurants were delicious. Everything was a la cart ❤️❤️ Make sure to try the lasagna and pizza at the Italian restaurant we couldn’t get enough. The dinning was always an experience with, singing, dancing, live shows even tapenaki! Everyone was so welcoming and it was such an experience we will never forget it. We are still talking about it. And when friends and family ask me what my favorite part of our 5 week trip was, I always say Bawe island. It’s a must!

Top location. The General Manager Roberto has been really kind. Samuela (guest relation) has been so friendly and Giacomo (chef) has been so helpfull with my allergy. A very special THANKS to Elizabeth that has been our shadow for all our stay. Kennedy gave us all the infos. The housekeeping was perfect. Top experience. The island is magic.

Over priced and not worth it at all. Service was one of the worst. Every 5 minutes it sorry and they don’t pay attention to anything at all. This is a Maldives company coming to Zanzibar to scam people. $18 for a soda at the bar. They make you pay an all exclusive package to later than charge you for room service

Overrated. This place feels like it is work in progress- villas are new, infrastructure is still being built, landscaping is done every day. But you should not be witnessing it when going on vacation in a five star resort. Food is average and limited. Staff has great attitude, but their English is sometimes poor. And unfortunately the attitude will not replace skills. The place was filled in about 1/4 when we were there- it felt private to the point where it felt empty. Overall, it was a mixed bag of experiences. I believe this is not a five star experience, but you are being charged for it as if it was that. The value you are getting does not justify the price.

Me and my wife spent 2 nights in this paradise on Earth for our honey moon. I can't use different words to describe Bawe island. We spend our time in a stunning and beautiful waterfront villa. The room was perfect, tidy, clean and the inside swimming pool is the cherry on the top. We can spend all day talking about how fantastic the bathroom is, but I won't ruin you the surprise! 😎 Staff: very friendly and attentive to all your needs, you won't need to lift up a single finger. They will take care of you. We couldn't recommend enough Bawe island resort and Cocoon Group.

Bawe Island is truly breathtaking. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and care, making our stay unforgettable. The island itself is stunning, with soft white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and a peaceful, private atmosphere—a true paradise. The staff made our experience even more special. A big thank you to the Guest Manager, Samuela, and our Villa Butler, Salome—they were incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. Their warm hospitality made us feel at home and added a personal touch to our stay. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway filled with serenity and peace of mind, Bawe Island is the perfect place.

Above par luxurious services and natures. Recommend for ocean lovers and family gathering! They managed to find a way to catch our flight despite the strong wind. Different choices of food, love the Italian restaurant for its pizza and octopus

We had an amazing time on the beautiful Bawe Island. The hotel staff were welcoming and happy, our butler Fadhila couldn’t do enough to make our stay extra special. We stayed in a stilted villa with amazing sunset and sunrise views across the ocean. Fadhila arranged a fabulous dhow sunset cruise with Zimbabwean musicians and singers, an unforgettable experience. We will definitely return as soon as we can.
