A nice comfortable hotel with helpful friendly staff who are easy to communicate with in person or by phone.
The hotel is located towards the top part of West Cliff which is good for walking downhill towards centre of town but also the hotel is within a very short walk to the sea view and beach.

Tiny room (supposed to be a deluxe double). Freezing cold due to radiation broken. Also bed was not made up! Was promised a heater but it never materialised. Moved rooms the next day (very inconvenient!) but it was not cleaned! Also heard that previous occupants were moved out for the same reason! Management is dire! Don’t stay here! Much nicer places in Whitby!

Stayed in Room 5..found the room to be clean,warm and with a lovely en-suite.contacted owners/staff over the phone,very friendly and useful with parking information.good location to gain access into Whitby itself and quiet at the end of the night.we did have a chuckle to ourselves,trying to access the hotel,after a few beers and using the new no key access..silly old buggers!!!.

A smashing room in a great location with great amenities. A short walk down the hill to the harbour & central shops. Reasonable price for a one night stay too. Had extras such as snacks and extra tea coffee to use. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you. Ted & Callum

I agree some reviews are very harsh, We booked one night, communication very good, key code sent by email, collected room key from the key lock. Room 8, compact but very nicely decorated, clean, warm , lovely bathroom. Plenty of tea and coffee, refill stations on the landings. Quiet Room comfortable bed. Continental type breakfast was included but not much left to choose from, we suspect greedy guests helped themselves on arrival. We did get a couple of cheap breakfast bars, there were cereals, fruit juice, apples, yogurt in large cartons, (individual would be more hygenic) Maybe breakfast shouldn't be put out until the morning to give everyone a chance. We would stay again.

Had a wonderful weekend stay at lily rose hotel! The staff were friendly and attentive, the room was clean and cozy, and the location was perfect for exploring. The breakfast was delicious. I’d happily stay here again—highly recommended!

The hotel’s location was perfect, with easy access to local attractions and restaurants. I particularly enjoyed the self service breakfast—delicious, with plenty of options to suit all tastes. The area offering a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Overall, my weekend at Lily rose hotel exceeded my expectations, and I can’t wait to return for another stay. Highly recommended!

Comfy bed, lovely and warm, good, clean shower, all the usual coffee, tea, tv. etc. There are some harsh reviews on here, but for the money, 5 stars. If you want somewhere more fancy, go somewhere else and pay double. Would definitely stay here again.
