Glenfield House

We had such a lovely stay at Glenfield House! Kathy, the owner is so welcoming and kind; nothing is too much trouble. We were also delighted to meet her three dogs, Lily, Flynn and Archie who are all adorable. Our room overlooking the main road was spacious and comfortable and very well-maintained. There has been a clever use of the space available for the room to have a very smart en suite with an excellent shower. The bed was very comfortable. Kathy's breakfasts were superb. We had a choice of full or part English, cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, croissants and different types of bread including a gluten-free option for my wife. Glenfield House is very convenient for Whitehaven town centre which is only a few minutes walk away. If travelling by train, we would recommend going to Corkickle which is the nearest railway station only 10 mins walk from the hotel. Whitehaven station is at the other end of town. We would happily stay at Glenfield House again. Many thanks to Kathy for making our visit so memorable.

Had a lovely 2 night stay here for the Kings coronation while my husband was Djing at one of the local pubs. The room we had was lovely and cosy and everything we needed in the room. Kathy was very welcoming and accommodated to our needs, she has e friendly dogs and even though she has these, everywhere is clean and tidy. If you are partial to a cooked breakfast, then you will love this one, also provides other options. We had a lovely stay and look forward to returning. Thank you for having us, Kathy.

From when we stepped into Glenfield House we were made to feel very welcome, with a cup of tea made for us to help us to settle in. Kathy went out of her way and nothing was too much trouble. The house is in excellent order and pristine throughout. Good choice of breakfast at a time to suit our schedule and could not be faulted. The two dogs also made you feel at home. I would definately recommend a stay at this bed and breakfast.

Excellent B&B . Lovely , clean and very spacious room . Cathy is really nice and really accommodating. She has two little dogs that are really well behaved , but if you don't like dogs then it's a no . Would definitely stay again .

Glenfield House is well presented, comfortable and a relaxing place to stay. The owner, Kathy, is very welcoming. Breakfast is delicious, including the best poached eggs I’ve had in a long time. Parking is convenient, just across the road. For anyone wanting to make use of more sustainable transport the local rail station (Corkickle) is a short distance away and buses serve stops immediately adjacent to the establishment. I recommend Glenfield House for a quiet break, or as a base to explore the local area.

A fabulous little boutique B&B. Cathy is so lovely warm and welcoming as a host nothing is too much trouble. Thanks to her for looking after us during our stay. I have to say Cathy russles up a brilliant full English breakfast too. The trio of dogs are lovely and friendly making the place feel like a home from home. Thanks Cathy we will certainly recommend and stay again when we revisit whitehaven.
