Seeing the aurora borealis was a bucket list trip. The Northern Lights Resort and Spa was the perfect place to check off the experience. We were met at the airport by Richard and driven to the resort in a comfortable van. Toby and Patrick greeted the group in the main lodge for an orientation and refreshments. The resort accommodates 16 guest. We enjoyed visiting with other guest and the multi national staff. All the meals and afternoon snacks were delicious. Both chefs are named James. Dietary concerns were not a problem. Several diners in our group requested smaller portions because the servings were generous. Our cabin was spacious and clean. It’s really nice to view the lights from a warm room when they decide to appear in the middle of the night. Dorothea was our campfire guide. We loved talking with her around the fire with hot drinks. She showed us how to use the settings on our phones to capture the lights and took photos with a resort camera. We saw the lights 3 out of 4 nights! Richard was our guide for snowmobiling , the Whitehorse town visit, the wildlife preserve and the hot springs. We were in great hands. He was knowledgeable and a fun guide. The massage services were provided by Reimi. She has studied in numerous countries and has perfected the art. Do not miss the opportunity to experience her magical hands. Toby and Lynn were superb hosts. They were eager to welcome us into their home. Everyone we encountered in Canada were gracious and made us want to return. In summary, the resort was delightful and the lights were magical. It was a joy to spend time with family, old friends and new friends in such a beautiful environment. I didn’t get a lot of sleep on this trip but seeing the lights was worth being a little sleep deprived.

This is truly a holiday experience which we will never forget! We stayed in one of the Aurora Glass Chalets which was just amazing to look out over the snow covered field onto the mountains in the background - just amazing. The service was above and beyond our expectations by far. The staff were amazing - Patrick and Ulle were amazing in in the dining room, always anticipating everyone's needs. The meals were just amazing! We were very lucky and got to see the lights two out of the three nights and Ulle made sure that were well looked after with hot chocolate and treats throughout the night. This place is an absolute credit to Lynn and Toby for setting and maintaining such a high standard. A credit to all the staff involved.

We visited Mar 27-31 and had the best time. Excellent service, good food and we saw a few auroras! I recommend you go out, even if the weather looks like it won’t cooperate or the KPs on the apps don’t look promising! The best viewing was at 3am on our last night. We just happened to wake up. They do have an alarm that sounds, but not after 1:30am. We had fun hiking around the property, did the introduction to snowmobiling and enjoyed a Finnish sauna and massage. The massage was the best I have ever experienced! Kudos to Tobi and Lynn for keeping such a high standard. Richard was wonderful, from picking us up at the airport to teaching us snowmobiling. Patrick was a wonderful dining room captain, nature walk and Aurora guide. Our server, Ulle (sp) was gracious and anticipated our needs, and our masseuse was expert and was awesome. Such a fun time; I highly recommend!

We absolutely loved this place! The service and staff are A+, food fantastic, all the day trips so fun, and of course the resort itself is just beautiful. We had a wonderful time and got to see the lights as well! We loved the animal park and seeing all the native animals. The hot springs were fantastic—just wish we had spent more time there. Dog mushing was so amazing! This was truly our favorite! So unique to be able to experience the Beauty of the snowy woods while sitting in a sled pulled by 5 dogs. My husband also enjoyed snowmobiling on the property with Richard —he had so much fun!! We both got massages and used the Finnish sauna. Heavenly!! And the food! Family style and soooo good! We stayed in a glass chalet and it was terribly romantic and cozy. We especially appreciated the light alarm which helped us get to view the northern lights on one of our nights. You will not be disappointed if you stay here!! The Yukon is a great place to visit and we plan on returning in the summer to do some hiking!!

Tobi, Lyn, and the rest of the NLR crew did an absolutely phenomenal job with every aspect of our trip. Not a single detail was overlooked during the course of our stay. The rooms were all well-appointed, the meals were top-notch, and the hospitality was outstanding. The nightly bonfires were so much fun and a great way to keep warm while waiting for the lights to appear in the sky. Book early to ensure you get your prefered dates and enjoy your trip to the Northern Lights Resort!

Overall, I had a great experience and a very comfortable stay. This small resort offers European-style hospitality run by the sweet and hardworking couple, Lynn and Tobi. While it's not upscale or luxurious, it's certainly of very good European quality. They met my expectations and exceeded them in some areas. The chalet was spacious and impeccably clean, with snow-white towels and spotless floors. Chef James' meals were delicious and creative. The included meals were the ideal amount for me, although possibly not enough for those accustomed to North American hospitality. The staff was friendly and accommodating, notably Patrick, Dorothy, Remi, and Ollie, who went above and beyond. My favorite was Ollie (I hope I spelled the name correctly). She went the extra mile to please during meal times and her nighttime Aurora hunting guidance was exceptional. Her enthusiasm and helpfulness in setting up my phone for photos, using a tripod, and offering to take pictures of guests all night were impressive. Although did give a perfect score, there is always room for improvement. Firstly, the bed mattress was too soft, affecting my sleep. I realize it's not something you can choose, but I was caught off guard as a frequent traveler who rarely encounters this issue in hotels worldwide. Secondly, the airport transfer had the latest option at 10 am. Given our flight was at 5:30 pm, I felt rushed out of the resort. They offered a city drop-off, but there wasn't much to do in the city for six hours. This was extremely inconvenient, especially for warm-weather guests who had to carry warm clothing and repack it before boarding. I wish they allowed us to stay on the grounds or offered a short city museum tour with lunch before heading to the airport. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the experience and would recommend it.

We had the best experience we could ask for on our adventure to see the Northern Lights! Tobi, Lynn & the entire team made our time at the resort a first-class experience from the minute that we arrived in Whitehorse until we departed! The meals were delicious, varied, and they utilized local sourcing as much as possible! The accommodations were cozy and comfortable! The staff made sure that no detail was ignored and their knowledge allowed us to relax & soak in everything we could! Anyone wanting to get the Northern Lights experience needs to get here as fast as they can!!

Tobi and the whole staff could not have been more gracious. The food was very good. Although they have a small wine list - the wines are very well chosen and relatively inexpensive. We stayed in one of the glass window chalets. It lets you eye the lights (or clouds) without even leaving your bed. During the day we had spectacular views of the mountains. We also took advantage of their in-house masseuse - she is wonderful. We really enjoyed the dogsled ride. You actually get to know the sled dogs. They are incredibly lovable. The surroundings of the resort are very quiet. Last but not least - we saw the Northern Lights! Just a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.
