This was my first time ever staying in a hotel, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Everything was smooth from the moment I arrived, and I felt comfortable and welcome straight away. The manager, Shaun, was absolutely amazing; so accommodating and genuinely kind. He made sure I had everything I needed and took the time to check in on how things were going, which really made a difference, especially as a first-time guest. One of the highlights was the lovely Indian restaurant on-site. The food was incredible, full of flavour, and reasonably priced. It was such a nice touch having that option right there at the hotel. Also, parking was only £2.50 for the whole day, which is amazing value and made everything even more stress-free, I can’t think of anywhere else you’re getting a full days parking for 2.50! The room was spotless, cosy, and quiet which was just what I needed. For a first hotel stay, this was beyond perfect. Huge thank you to Shaun and the whole team. I’ll definitely be back!

I stayed for 2 nights in this hotel Checking in was a very easy procedure, all done electronically at a terminal in reception. Why do you charge for parking ?? ( £2.50 a day ) I settled into my room and as i was unpacking a member of staff just let himself in ( totally unacceptable) im a male but imagine if i was female how embarrassing it could have been !! Bed was clean if a little firm, clean towels provided. Bathroom was clean and had just been refurbished..BUT shower was useless!! no more than a drip, so couldn't wash properly. If i was female and needed to wash my hair it would have been impossible. Breakfast in the morning was a poor toasted cheese sandwich, a croissant, small carton of apple juice and a pot of fruit cocktail wich needed a spoon to eat which was not provided..this could have been brought to your room if required as there is no restaurant. There is an Indian restaurant on site, but don't serve alcohol, so we decided to eat out. Now... I spoke to the lady in reception upon checkout ( she was lovely , couldn't be more helpful). She passed me on to the manager (Shaun) who was sat in a chair in the lobby area.. He didn't even bother to get up and talk to us, we voiced our concerns, but he didn't seem bothered and didn't say a word to us !! Totally unprofessional He has no customer service skills at all ( I strongly suggest he goes on a management course) I will not be going back.....

Recently opened, this converted barn and bedrooms is a must to visit. Reasonably priced, this hotel is spacious and beautifully and tastefully fitted out in a peaceful part of Essex close to Rayleigh. Charming staff are always willing to please. Only negative is the "picnic" breakfast at £5.99. There is a restaurant but only for evening meals. A fixed plated breakfast in the dining room for maybe £10.00 would be a game changer.

It’s cheap for a reason. As another review has mentioned, feels more like a motel than a hotel. I don’t feel the carefully taken website photos are representative of the rooms. Parking is £2.50, despite enough spaces to fill the hotel several times over and nothing else being nearby. Whilst the en suite has been renovated, it was cold and should have been cleaner - the shower was covered with limescale and the bath felt like it hadn’t been wiped properly. The bedroom was tired, with an endless intermittent buzzing noise coming through the floor - this did not stop. I was told this was due to the plumbing and people showering, but it is enough to send you mad and would be impossible to sleep through. I’d advise if the bed was comfy, but in the end I booked a room elsewhere.
