Stayed one night for a local wedding, John the host dropped me to the venue which was a lovely gesture, room was clean and comfortable, it's an old building but the room was perfectly comfortable (I was nervous after reading some reviews but I was pleasantly surprised) nice breakfast, would recommend for anyone attending local wedding

We stayed at the Tent House mid July 2023. It was about the 10th place we had stayed in a two week long trip in Ireland. My husband booked all of our stays using the bed and breakfast Ireland website. We arrive around 4pm and my husband checked us in. We were also traveling with my in laws and parents, so we had 3 rooms between us. Ours was a family room with a double bed, and 2 twins and the seniors both had double rooms. About 5pm, I came downstairs with one of my daughters to take her to a nearby playground. As I opened the front door, the owner, I think his name was Peter stopped us and asked if we could pay. I was confused as we had just checked in. RED FLAG #!. I told him such and that we weren't checking out until tomorrow. He again asked me to pay, so I did and was shocked that he charged us 195 Euros. This was the most we had paid for a stay thus far in Europe. When I got to the playground, I looked up the stay on the B&B Ireland website and it was in fact 195 euros. I thought to myself, this place is not worth 195 euros. We had stayed in quite a few places and the most we had paid was around 175 euros. And the Tynte house fell far below the accommodations we had stayed in thus far. We went out to dinner that evening and got back to the hotel around 8/9pm and proceeded to give our daughters baths when we discovered we did not have hot water! I went downstairs and was followed by another guest and we both agreed there was no hot water. RED FLAG #2. Peter was downstairs and said they ran out earlier and that it would be back in the morning, 6/7pm. I went back to the room and looked up reviews, to find that this was not the first time a guest encounter no hot water at the Tynte House. My father was convinced they didnt have a big enough hot water tank, and that Peter knew of the problem, and just wasn't dishing out the money to fix it and get a bigger tank. After reading the reviews and having paid so much and up front, I was convinced we were being scammed and thus had a horrible night's sleep. I woke up around 5am and went to the bathroom and our sink had hot water. I turned the shower on and no hot water. The shower head worked but only produced cold water. I took a sponge bath with the hot water from the sink. Around 7am I was LIVID and went downstairs to talk with Peter. I was convinced he turned the water heater off mid day to save on electricity and then turned it on in the late evening to warm it up for the morning showers. I confronted him and told him I wanted money back. I told him I felt like i was being scammed, him having us pay up front. He said it was policy for all B&B's to get money the night before---I told him that if it was policy, none of the other B&B's we had stayed in enforced the policy. He said someone had left a hot water spigot running and that's why the hot water had run out. I told him I didnt believe that, that I had seen reviews and this was not the first time he had run out

Upon checkout, we informed the gentleman we were speaking to of some issues we encountered during our stay, namely: 1) The bathroom had not been cleaned properly in advance of our checking in, with numerous hairs laying in the bath upon our first entering 2) The towels were also not cleaned adequately, and upon first use, at least 3 of them had short black curly hairs interwoven into their fabric 3) The bed linen was also not clean, with the double bed in the room having two separate blood stains on the fitted sheet 4) The water came out in a trickle in the morning, making it impossible for us to shower As mentioned, this was flagged upon checkout and I subsequently left with our luggage while my boyfriend paid. I was later stunned to find that we had still been charged the entire €160 for the stay! I also want to note that before posting this review, I reached out to the property twice to give them a chance to redeem themselves or at least provide a sincere acknowledgement and apology before taking to leaving a review. Both of my mails were ignored.

Great location and had many amenities, the village is picturesque and the host was charming. The accommodations were exceptional! I liked the fresh breakfast in the morning and shared a couple of beers with the host at night. Would recommend a quaint Irish village!

This place is handy if you need somewhere cheap (ish) for a one-night stay (such as a wedding). However, I would rather pay a bit more and stay somewhere nicer and warm. The rooms are cold, we had no heating whatsoever. The building is very old and as soon as breakfast is being cooked, there is a snell of fried food all over the room. The bathroom is ok, shower and sink are very old and it takes ages for hot water to come through. Plus, check out is way earlier than any other place ( usually it's around 12 but here it is at 10) which makes the stay less convenient.

Onveilig gevoel.
