Rooms are basic but do the job. Things could be a bit better. Water pressure is bad in the shower, there was no milk in the room with the tea and coffee and the tv station all freeze. We were only given a key to our room and not the front door. We returned from an evening out at 1am to find the whole building locked up and us locked out. Only for a bar staff member was driving by we would have had to sleep in the car. The resturant and bar downstairs is lovely, great food and nice staff.

i went there yesterday evening for something to eat, i paid 32 euro for a steak, 8 euro for a pint of Coors and 9 euro for a small glass of wine. where did they get these prices from its Baltinglass not Temple bar no wonder there was nobody in it and to top it all off neither the pint or steak was that good.

Called in for food as we were passing through after a day at the beach in Wexford. Visited many years ago remembering the good food we said we’d call in again. We were well taken care of and the staff were friendly and efficient, the food was really tasty and the portions generous. We really enjoyed our meals, we’ll worth a visit.

We ate here unexpectedly since our room in Germaine's 'other' premises in Baltinglass (Magmell Town House) was not ready. To be fair they gave us a complimentary meal due to our room being 'half' cleaned for occupation.... so - first the food. A nice chicken curry for my partner & a poké 'bowl' for me - poké bowl was actually a plate of basmati rice with dollops of sweetcorn, pickled cabbage and cucumber with optional halloumi topping - there was no soy sauce or otherwise & it was all very bland. Anyway, the free meal was a nice touch. So back to Magmell Town House which doesn't have its own Tripadvisor page - possibly because the building is half finished with abandoned building work going on out the back and dust sheets covering the downstairs furniture. The downstairs French doors didn't have a lock and therefore were open at all times making security feel uncomfortable. Upstairs there are about 5 bedrooms. Our room on first sight looked great- nicely decorated with marble shower room & massive TV. This place will be AMAZING once it's finished but in the meantime the niggly bits, such as no loo roll holder, no towel rail, no hooks for bathrobes, only 3 hangers in the wardrobe, keycards that don't work .... all need fixing. Housekeeping also needs addressing since on our first day (& the reason for the complimentary meal) the bed linen was not fresh (smelled of another person and sheets rucked up beneath a seemingly smooth duvet) - also the coffee machine contained dirty water & used coffee pods, there was also a half finished bottle of wine in the fridge. HOWEVER, these were fixed and to be fair we had a lovely stay, we liked the bathrobes & massive shower & the bed was v comfortable. LOTS of road noise from front facing rooms and the shutters, although aesthetically pleasing, do not block the light. There was no welcome note, no WiFi code, no instructions. The keycard constantly needed reprogramming at Germaine's. We have no idea whether breakfast was included as there was no information about it. A final note - there is a coffee machine but no kettle so you can't make tea. I hope this review will be of use to other customers! We will return if we're in the area, it's a beautiful building & has huge potential.

Lovely food, lots of it, but to dark to read menu, but very nice. Nice big table for a party of about 10, everybody liked their food. Would recommend as a nice place for a small party or a nice couples date. The lights are the only problem as we had to use lights on our phones to read the menu 😅 but we laughed that off and had a great meal.

We went for our daughters Confirmation dinner yesterday. It was top class. We had chosen our own menu and everything from starter to dessert was divine. Staff are lovely and friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Well done Germaines, keep up the good work and thank you..

Average carvery. Massive portions, good place if you have a big appetite. The mashed potato was very bad. The chicken was dry. The gravy was good. Major mould issue in the ladies toilets, so a bad smell. Staff were pleasant. Nice decor.

3.5 Stars - The food for breakfast was delicious. I can't wait to try out my own version for our bed and breakfast. The room was less than spectacular. The carpet felt dirty on your feet and the bathroom was small, which we expected. It would be great to have a luggage rack to set your suitcase on, but the floor is your only choice. It was very unclear where the rooms were located, we had to guess and luckily it was the right one. For the price the value was not really there, I would have expected it to be a little more cost effective.
