Spent a week here over New Year and it was absolutely brilliant. The rooms were very spacious and some of the views were incredible. The recently opened spa area is unreal and the perfect way to soothe any aches and pains from a day on the slopes. Personal favourite was the Finnish sauna. Breakfast in the morning was always very nice, a great selection of continental options alongside some lovely sausages and scrambled eggs. Plentiful coffee and fruit juice too. The evening meals were lovely and hearty, the soups each night were delicious and the main course options were also very tasty and filling. The staff are the true stars though and they couldn’t do enough for us during our stay, they made us feel very welcome and part of their family. It is a wonderful hotel hosted by an incredible team of people.

This hotel claims to be 4 star. It isn’t. Here’s why- Staff- reception staff not very friendly at all. Dining and bar staff ok- not particularly friendly but not unfriendly. Rooms- small, outdated, inconvenient (such as no plug near a mirror). The bathroom was very small and not great at all. The shower was over small bath and flooded the whole bathroom so you had to use half your towels for mopping up. Towels were thin and fraying. Sheets had a hole in. The cleaning wasn’t great and every day they folded the duvet up on top of bed which drove us mad!! You had to re make the bed very time you got in. Food- was basic and cheap. Unvaried. Breakfast not particularly good. I expected decent sausage and bacon but it was fried spam type thing and frankfurter sausage. Spa- it seemed strange to have spent all that money on this spa area when the rest of hotel in need of updating. Adults only swimming pool was nice but not warm enough to be a hydrotherapy pool and not big enough to swim in so not sure what it was going for. Also more kids than adults in the adults only Pool most of the time. Also you had to pay extra for a robe and towel for the spa. That’s a new one on me in a spa hotel. Overall this was ok but not great and definitely not 4 star.

had a wonderful holiday. I enjoyed my stay at the Sonnshein very much. (18 -25 January) All the facilities were excellent. As a solo skier I thought the idea of putting all solo skiers on the same table was a brilliant idea. I got make many new friends. The staff from room to restaurant to reception, were all very helpful.

My two older children and I have just come back from a week here at the end of Jan 25 and couldn’t be happier with the hotel, admittedly I was upgraded from a single to a magnificent double room but everything was just so easy and nothing was a problem. The town is very low key so it’s no wonder the hotel has all the facilities it does, from a darts and table tennis room to table football/air hockey but the icing on the cake is the new spa, it truly is exceptional, so many different sauna types and variations there of that it took a couple of days to try them all. There’s also a new gym with bouldering at one end. The boot room is large and with boot heaters. The restaurant has an odd seating system where you sit on the same table every meal but we luckily had nice people around us and the food was very good to boot. Thank you for a lovely week 😊 Room 421 pictured

Just returned from my 13th visit to this lovely hotel, but its worth an updated review as things change. Travelled with a group of 24 people, of which 10 were disabled (9 wheelchair users) on an adaptive ski trip with a charity Ski Across. And this hotel doesn't disappoint, the welcome from the staff is amazing, the rooms are large and accessible, and the constant improvements keep it up to date - new wing with gym, fitness centre and so on is amazing, bar and restaurant areas are comfy and cosy. But its the help we get for a specialist group which brings us back again and again.

Classic Tyrolean hotel with fantastic mod cons in a great setting. The staff are like a family, they could not have been more friendly or helpful. Emily should be very proud. Lisa in reception is a star. Rooms are quiet and very comfortable, daily cleaned and re-toweled . Although its a large hotel, it doesn't feel like it. Even at mealtimes it works so easily and the staff are most attentive, esp. Jelena for our table. The food was quality Austrian ( plus international ) cooking - very tasty, healthy and wholesome, delivered quickly to the table. The two indoor swimming pools are a joy as are the two saunas. Dressing gowns, towels and slippers provided by reception. As indeed umbrellas for the rainy day. Can only recommend this hotel as one of the best we have stayed in. Emily please let us know when your new "sunshine " has arrived.

I’m not an experienced skier so it’s always hard to choose an area and a hotel that pleases everyone. My husband, grown up sons and girlfriend had an amazing time. We loved the area and location. The hotel was welcoming and the leisure facilities are amazing. The gym and spa are out of this world and we loved the choice of two heated pools. The food was lovely, great selection at breakfast and I’m really going to miss their tasty soups. Emily was lovely and when she was free came to chat to us all whilst we were dining. Mladen looked after our table and provided great service. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. A big thanks to all the staff. X

We are on the last day of our first family ski holiday travelling with 2 children (8 & 5). I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the food is delicious, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the swimming pool and leisure facilities are excellent. The climbing wall and games facilities for the children have been a great way for them to spend the evenings. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
