We stayed a couple of times at this property and enjoyed it a lot. The design is beautiful, with great art pieces throughout the common areas and the guest rooms. The food is excellent (so you don’t have to leave the place), and the staff friendly. The only issue we had is the first night with room number 4 as it is located at the edge of the property, whose neighbor has a noisy dog barking at night. Ask for another room! The second time we were upgraded to one of the rooms that has a private plunge pool and this was totally worth it. We would definitely stay again at the Olive

Excellent boutique hotel! Beautifully appointed rooms, stayed in suite 3. Jane has been very friendly and helpful in the restaurant and reception. Will definitely return. A great start to our Namibia road trip. We arrived at Windhoek airport and checked into Olive Exclusive, we loved the touch of Africa, and the smiles on the staff’s faces as they welcomed us. Do yourself a favour and eat in, the menu is excellent as well as the wine selection. Nothing was too much trouble.

An unbeatable way to start your Namibian vacation. The Olive Exclusive has all the quality of a big-brand hotel chain. At the same time, it’s small and personal; so it feels like you’re staying at home with friends. And certainly the management and staff make it feel like home. Gavin, Melissa, Daphne and Antoinette were happy to go the extra mile and more. A small example: we wanted to wander over to Independence Avenue and see the Christuskiche. Though it’s a pretty safe city, Gavin said it gets a little too quiet on a weekend (this was a Saturday). So he drove us there and then picked us up after we’d had a bit of a wander. The food at the hotel is great and the suites are tastefully done. We didn’t use the plunge pool but it looked nice, though a little small. Our guidebook says that Namibia makes for a soft landing into Africa. Well, in the same way, The Olive Exclusive makes for a soft landing into Namibia! Strongly recommended. It’s a small property with only 7 suites, so plan well and book in advance.

Windhoek needs a top quality hotel and the Olive Exclusive could be fabulous Arrived to find a glorious room bathed in sunshine but soon found that maintenance was severely lacking. The door lock did not work and the room was freezing cold as it transpired that the heating units were actually set to cooling. Three visits later (including from the head of maintenance) nobody could do anything and they produced a small old oil filled radiator. When I tackled the manager at dinner on this she looked at me and said well are the units set the heating rather than cooling. In one visit from her it was sorted - none of the people who had been to the room to look at this were able to identify the problem - complete lack of training - how about some instructions in the room? Dinner was equally uninspiring - ordered a fillet steak almost London prices to be presented with a tough cold piece of meat which is clearly been reheated - sent it back they cut it in half put it on the grill and returned it lukewarm. I sent it back again and said I wanted a new piece of fillet and it was delicious - complete try on to get me to eat old meat? This hotel could be fabulous if only they could get everyone in the place to be as efficient and friendly as the reception lady who greeted me when I arrived Completely unmet potential

The hotel was nice. It’s what I would say is secluded with a gate, so didn’t feel comfortable exploring. That left the hotel as the only place to eat. The room was ok. There are a lot of floor lights which are distracting. The beds were comfortable. The shower was AMAZING. The best water pressure. The staff was great as well.

We stayed at the Olive Exclusive for one night in early May 2023 after an overnight flight from Europe, and we spent the day recovering, catching up on sleep and resting in this lovely small boutique hotel. We were warmly welcomed and had a delicious cup of coffee whilst waiting for our room to be ready, and enjoyed the views from the beautiful deck area. Our room was very large, and filled with interesting unique objects, to give each room its own personality. It also had a spacious and private terrace. There were plenty of towels, fresh drinking water and space to put things. The bed was huge and very comfortable. As for the food - delicious! We had a light lunch and also dinner with breakfast the following morning and every meal was freshly cooked and beautifully presented with plenty of choice for each course. In the evening, Gavin made me a fabulous gin and tonic using local gin, and after dinner we enjoyed several whiskies and an evening of interesting and fun chat with him and his lovely wife Melissa, who took over this hotel earlier this year. They have lots of plans for the property and I have no doubt they will be successful in all their ventures. The staff are all really helpful and friendly and the overall experience was a fantastic start to our Namibian holiday. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Olive Exclusive - perfect in every way.

We had such high hopes for this beautiful establishment, but alas we were disappointed. The rate charged per night did not justify the facilities offered. The rooms and general public areas require maintenance’ We stayed in Suite 1, a lot of little items need repairing that took away from what could be a really special stay. The pluses were :- The rooms are beautifully furnished and the beds are comfortable. The staff are extremely friendly and attentative - a huge bonus for the establishment The downside:- no brochures or booklet expqling explaining facilities or what the area in and around windhoek has to offer a visitor - towels are tatty and ragged and need replacing - no facecloths supplied (when we asked were told you dont supply) - no bubble bath or bath salts to enjoy with your bath - no candles for ambience - the pouffe in the bedroom area has a hole in it , and all the polystyrene balls are all over the room. - no beach towels - we have to ask - restaurant was Pricey and the food unimaginative for the prices charged :( We emailed management after our stay but have had no response. Just sad as this property has HUGE potential
