The Kings Arms is a lovely old village pub with a very friendly atmosphere and really interesting food - not your usual pub grub & it's won lots of Best Food awards. Our room was spacious and nicely furnished and the bathroom was clean and well appointed. Only slight criticism was that the bathroom was a little dark - could have done with a little more light. The landlady was very efficient and a bulb out on the stairs was immediately replaced, A really enjoyable stay and ideally placed for discovering Rutland.

We stayed at this Inn for two nights so we could visit Burghley House. Iys a beautiful building, and the room we had was lovely. Super comfortable bed, room big enough for a sofa and coffee table. Lovely shower over the bath. The bathroom is a little darling as it only has two lights over the bath side, but hey, it's not a problem except if you like to put your makeup on in there! It would have been great for me as my eyesight is rubbish, and they have the excellent facility of a magnifying mirror in there. The room was really clean, and the housekeeper was exceptional. The bed was so comfortable and it was so quiet we had the best nights sleep. The staff in the pub are just lovely. Debbie in particular was so helpful and friendly, but in all honesty, everyone was lovely. Now the food... we don't do breakfast so we cannot comment on that. But we did have a meal there. I promise you it was the best we have had for a very long time. I have included some photos, but honestly, even their beauty doesn't do them justice. The chefs are outstanding. If you are lucky enough to be around this area.. treat yourself!! You won't regret it.

Many things are great, but some irritating aspects spoil an otherwise great experience. The area is beautiful and perfect for friends who meet up for a ramble. The restaurant is exceptional, especially if you like games, perhaps a little lacking in choice if you don't. The staff sore 110%... wonderful. Breakfast OMG. So far, so VERY GOOD. But... you turn up on a Friday afternoon after a long drive, and nothing would be better than a beer. But the bar doesn't open till six, and nowhere else is open for miles. Despite giving out a password, the internet does not work in the rooms, and they know it. A business can always get decent IT these days; you just have to pay for it. The mattress in the room was cheap; the sofa in the room had collapsed and was uncomfortable. The bathroom is cramped, and the wash basin will dig into the ribs of anyone who sits on the loo. The water flows are not good in the bathroom, and there is no light above the mirror in the poorly lit bathroom. Just a point: there are no intumescent strips or smoke screens in the fire to our bedroom. ( sorry a bit of a nerdy one there, but it is important.) These are all fixable things but need a bit of attention

We knew of The Kings Arms in Wing because my wife's family had strong connections with the village - but we'd never stayed there .... until now. Its beautfully set up around the old pub courtyard and out buildings. We had the Granary Suite - upstairs above the smokehouse. Really well set up - both bedroom and bathroom ... all clean and freshly laundered. Breakfast was lovely and the service overall was tip top. Couldn't recommend The Kings Arms more highly. Really nice and definite value for money. We will be back.

STUNNING and l mean STUNNING FOOD - Beautiful quality, amazing value for money, fabulous atmosphere, beautiful open fire, lots of Country Magazines, great wine list and lots of GAME which is what The Kings Arms I famous for - helps so much that it is a husband and wife team and a FAMILY run business. The portions are HUGE !! I've never been able to eat a starter and a main, but usually opt for some fabulous home made ice cream. Have eaten the ROAST LEG OF HARE which was out of this world, the incredible RIB EYE STEAK and also the POACHED PHEASANT - all incredible. Home made chips which are delicious ... literally it should have a MICHELIN STAR in our opinion!

We had dinner here on a Tuesday night. A great welcoming into a pub with a tremendous atmosphere and a roaring log fire. The food was just wonderfull. I had the venison and kidney pie which I so enjoyed and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. My partner had the shoulder of venison which she loved. Lovely pint of Black Sheep to go with the meal. I had the sticky toffe pudding which was also excellent. Throughly recommended.

Arrived later than expected for our room after a long day. Asked whether we could have some food (we hadn’t booked) and although it was late and we had our son with us, they were very accommodating and made us something from the menu. The food was really excellent and they had two very good handpulls on. The breakfast was equally excellent and would absolutely stay again. Only 10 minutes to Rutland water and the excellent aqua park and Osprey cruise.

I stayed here about 6 years ago and loved it, so thought I’d revisit the experience again. I wasn’t disappointed. Although I only had a single room, it was comfortable and ideal for the purpose - the en suite was functional (I mentally redesigned it whilst there). I enjoyed dinner in the bar area on Friday night and the food was terrific the service superb, all-in-all, a really nice atmosphere. I would happily recommend this place for a weekend away on your own or with company. The breakfast was lovely, too. Wing is a charming village which hasn’t changed that much since I lived there back in the 1960s. The Maze is still there, as is the phone box outside the pub! Only it has a defibrillator in it now! Lots of lovely walks if you have a dog, too.

A decade ago we happened upon this treasure. Since then the standards have never waivered. The food has never failed to impress. From field to fork at its very best . A stunning wine list . We can hand on heart say we have never had a visit that was not 5☆ experience .
