Very cramped room, window opened slightly onto a row of conifers. Indifferent breakfast staff who gave me a teaspoon to eat my cereal! She couldn’t be bothered to walk to the cutlery tray to get me a spoon. This happened two days running! Ps I’m not 5. Asked for a continental breakfast and this consisted of a single small croissant (no jam or butter) a small tub of yogurt and an apple, a very disappointing breakfast experience.

Enjoyed our visit to the Wheatsheaf on Friday afternoon and evening. Great food, excellent service and very friendly professional staff. A well stocked bar and a great selection of food on the menu. Enjoyed our visit so much we have just booked a week’s stay as the Wheatsheaf has accommodation which looks really nice. Thanks everyone see you soon.

We had a one night stay in the Wheatsheaf. We enjoyed a really nice meal in the pub in the evening and would like to particularly commend the staff - Jorja, Tyler and Kai who were well ring that evening. They were very polite and cheerful and nothing was too much trouble.

The room with two single beds was a decent size and was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was, I think fairly new and had a good size shower with powerful waterfall and hose shower. We did not have breakfast but did eat dinner in the bar one evening which was reasonably priced. Friendly staff behind the bar. We were helped kindly by staff to extend our stay as we needed it and kept the same room.

Had a one night stay here on 2nd August 2024 having booked and requested a quiet room; we took the "Breakfast included" option and paid £150.28 for the experience. Our room was spacious but at the very front of the hotel behind the illuminated pub sign and right on the main road. (We were meeting friends for dinner so did not have time to take issue with the room as we were already late.) Traffic on the road outside is light but constant and this led to a very disturbed sleep as it was a very hot evening and we were forced to keep the secondary double glazing open as there is no air conditioning. A fan was provided but it had clearly not been dusted for quite some time and the central ceiling light was covered in cobwebs. Light from outside was quite strong and this was exacerbated by the fact that the curtains were poorly fitting and at one place had come off the rail. I have read the comments about the fluffy pillows, ours were two small lumpy biscuits which had to be scrunched up to provide any support. The beds themselves were comfortable and the bathroom clean and functional. Breakfast was a further disappointment as we were given a menu and told that breakfast was the Brunch option. When it arrived it the two sausages were very overcooked and were cold. The bacon had clearly been cooked on an uncleaned griddle as it tasted very strongly of barbecue sauce. It was difficult to identify how the two eggs had been cooked but one was hard, the other soft, and both tepid. The single mushroom contained enough oil to power a car and the single slice of toast really looked sad and wished that it had been at another hotel. The staff were OK but there seemed to be a general malaise about the place and we were glad to leave. At £75+ each this was certainly not an experience we will be repeating.

My daughter and I stayed for a night as we were going to the Brooklands Museum. Check in couldn’t have been easier. Rooms were clean and a good size. Lovely traditional local pub with really friendly staff. Went out of their way to make sure everything was ok. Luckily it was steak night and quiz night. Steaks were excellent and the quiz a good laugh. Great nights sleep and then a cooked to order breakfast which was perfect. All in all a great night in a great place.
