Booked two rooms to visit my son . Arrived and the reception staff were fantastic, room was fine ( very warm and little ventilation). Went across to the restaurant pub. OMG. No staff , waited 20 mins and eventually someone came. A man had waited over an hour for his food and the rest of his group had finished eating theirs, he asked for a refund. The two staff sorted it and were rude and miserable . I eventually got a drink and at 9:30 she shouted last orders. 15 minutes later she came out of the bar with a heavy set of keys on a long string and started swinging it at each table shouting ‘ locking up now ‘ !! The restaurant is filthy. Food slop , sticky tables. Rank !

Comically bad stay. There was no one behind the desk when we arrived and the buzzer button just set off a pager that was left abandoned on the receptionist desk. The five of us and another couple waited about 20 minutes before someone came along. The room had plenty of wear and tear and desperately needed updating. The breakfast was terrible. We booked when we arrived but sat and waited over an hour while everyone around us arrived, ordered, ate and left. Eventually our food arrived undercooked and cold. The waitresses were trying their best but they seemed totally defeated. It’s probably time that Premier Inn either gave the place a huge overall or handed it off to a competitor so they can capitalise on it.

a bit out of the way to find . plenty of parking a little disorganized as they use fresh milk for the tea and coffee but do not tell you in your room anywhere meaning you have to go back to reception to find out. Also despite booking a double room for 2 nights, were were only left 1 hand towel and 1 bath towel. Receptionist was happy to help with both the milk and towels. Food is served in the pub in the grounds but quite a basic menu , mostly deep fried so did not eat there for the second night. Rooms comfortable and clean. Staff friendly and helpful

We regularly use this Premier Inn when visiting a relative. The rooms are always clean, with the usual amenities and there is plenty of parking available. The staff are always polite, cheerful & helpful. There is a Beefeater on-site but we prefer to walk into Horsell to eat.

Lovely staff, fab room, great location. I must admit I was a little worried about going here after some of the reviews I had read, however this was the nearest place to my son who I was visiting, so booked it and kept my fingers crossed! I was very pleasantly surprised, the staff were lovely, the bedroom was lovely and clean with a very comfy bed and the location on the canal was fab with beautiful walks etc.... We will definitely be back

We stayed here from 11th - 13th may can I just say our stay was horrific from the start. We arrived in the room, walked in, and it was like a sauna. We opened the window and turned on the fan which was provided which also just blew around hot air we couldn’t sleep the first night at all and we came here to visit Thorpe park as we’re not from around here. We didn’t enjoy our 2 days in the park due to lack of sleep we literally were lying in puddles of sweat all night it was disgusting and now we have both ended up ill as the heat was absolutely unbearable. The first night we asked if the air con worked and got told it doesn’t and there was nothing else that could be done to cool down the room. We carried on through the heat and then we went down to breakfast the first day. It was so unorganised the floor was sticky when it had only opened an hour prior when everything should have been clean. We then sat down and realised it wasn’t even a buffet breakfast as advertised so we walked back out as we didn’t have time to order and wait as we were going to Thorpe park Then we came back after Thorpe park the temperature soared even more than the first night to a whopping 27 degrees when it was only 20 outside. It was so much cooler outside we would of been better sleeping in the car then I had a shower to realise the shower was not draining, I then picked up the drain which was absolutely covered in hair and dust it was absolutely putrid. Then we went down to reception again to complain about the heat and the girl looked at me like I had ten heads. She was no help at all she said we can have an extra fan but can’t move rooms the fan only blew around more hot air which didn’t help at all. The staff were so rude and unhelpful would it kill them to crack a smile. One blonde receptionist even looked me up and down as I was checking in which is just uncalled for. I’ve now also read on trip advisor were not the only people to complain about this issue in room 312. So why has this issue not been sorted? I would like a full refund as we’ve had no sleep for 2 days. I would like to say we’d be coming back but after this hectic 2 days of sweltering heat not a chance in hell!!!!

Overall not a good night's sleep. Room 312, a twin room, had two single beds with old saggy mattresses. Not what we are used to in other Premier Inns. The room was terribly hot..yes the weather was warm, but it was 25 degrees during the night in the room (see photo) and there was no air conditioning. I used some tissue to wipe up some water off the bathroom floor and was appalled to see the tissue became blackened with obvious grime from the floor. I would say it's not getting properly cleaned. The receptionist's welcome was the most dour and unwelcoming we have probably had at any Premier Inn ever. Maybe they need to swap around and bring in some staff from other local Inns (eg Guildford North) to show these guys that friendliness can work. Would we stay there again? Almost certainly not, maybe in mid winter. What is nice is the canal side location, good for early morning exercise. Did we complain in the night about the room? No...once you're unpacked, changed for bed, washed etc, you don't get up out of bed at a late hour to start a rigmarole with reception. We mentioned it in the morning and we're reassured we could have had a fan if we'd asked. To be honest a fan wouldn't have solved this heat problem. My advice is ask for a room facing the car park which won't get so much sun on a hot day.
