When we first arrived at this hotel, the staff who met us was friendly and seemed helpful, we got to our room opened the door and it was freezing cold. The window was wide open, the radiators were cold and the room stunk of smoke. We had to complain and move rooms. We were moved to the room next door, that was the same, no heating on and the room was freezing cold again ! We were then woken up at 7:30 in the morning with the fire alarms going off. The cleaner downstairs I had dropped a lump of wood out of the fire onto the floor which set the alarms off. I wiil not be staying here again ! In my opinion, I think it's expensive at £155.00 a night, and a disappointing stay over !

Friendly staff, lovely pub and food. Room a little quirky with squeaky floorboards but clean and comfortable. Sat people watching in the sun. Very relaxing and a great place to spend a few days! Very close to shops but parking out back was limited so get there early !

On holiday in Suffolk when visiting Framlingham we went in for lunch with our two dogs . The menu has a good menu good choice of food including meeting various dietary needs nicely prepared and good value for money. Staff friendly and very helpful without bring over attentive. Nice relaxed but professional atmosphere Will definitely go again

We’ve stayed at this little gem of a pub on several visits to Framlingham, whilst visiting our son at The College. It’s exactly what a country pub should be - warm, welcoming and does a good breakfast. It also has a revolving door of interesting dogs coming in and out to enjoy the cool stone floors and indeed it has its own talking Labrador that guards the reception area. Over these visits the staff have remained a happy constant (with a special mention to the always cheerful Aldo who painstakingly looks after his guests at breakfast). Now be under no illusion, the accommodation is not traditionally 5 star. The floorboards squeak (sometimes alarmingly), the beds are a little bouncy and have the odd lump - but if you like quirky English pubs, then it’s the whole picture postcard experience that you’ll fall in love with - and happily come back to.

Booked last minute and they accommodated us. Schnitzel fabulous. Firefly drinks a revelation. Friendly staff nice decor. Defo recommend to anyone visiting Framlingham . Didn’t stay but i would consider next time. Sea bass also great and parked in front

Meeting with friends and family for lunch. Lasagne, fish pie and other items chosen by our group. I chose the sea bass. Whilst the fish was tasty, the new potatoes, green beans and bacon bits were swimming in a lot of fat! Not sure if it was butter or oil, but there was far too much of it. Having recently lost my gall bladder (surgery, not carelessness), I am still having problems processing so much fat. Our friends were disappointed at the length of time waiting for our meal to be served, stating that after their drive to Framlingham they were hungry! I know that our town is very popular with visitors, particularly fans of the TV programme, Detectorists, the summer menu is good, but please less fat.

Firstly the pros, good service, beautiful building, and very clean inside. Good location Cons, dated carpets and furnishings. Can be very noisy at night. Outside needs cleaning and updating especially at the rear overlooking the car park.

The best coffee, lovely atmosphere but usually thin on the ground with staff. Dogs welcome, lovely sunny courtyard. Food usually good, not many vegan choices sadly so don’t eat there often. Great for meeting friends and family. Would recommend

Went with family for a meal and had sausages and mash. For £14.50 had three sausages a small blob of mash and some peas swimming in gravy. The sausages were ok but the advertised creamy mash was not creamy, slightly lumpy and lukewarm warm. The peas were hard. The meal was distinctly average and not an experience that would make me rush back. The waiting staff were attentive when we first got there but were very slow to clear the table when we had finished our main course and we were not even offered a dessert. Wouldn’t rush back.
