Welcome to Raven Fox Farm! This cozy farmhouse sits on 5 acres surrounded by beautiful trees and horse paddocks. There are 5 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms that sleep a total of 10 guests. There is also a 5 stall barn if you are traveling with horses that can be rented. The home has been newly furnished. Three bedrooms have queen beds, one bedroom is a king bed with a flat screen TV and one bedroom has two twins. There is a kitchen with a new stove and dishwasher and coffee maker and kettle and cooking supplies if you want to have some meals in and a formal dining space and two living rooms. When the weather is right there is a pool outback for swimming or just floating on a raft enjoying the sun and country air. We have grills for summer time cook outs! And sometimes you might even find a horse peeking over the fence at you and three resident cats that patrol the property. These are ideal accommodations for a group of friends traveling together, families, or business travelers. You will feel comfortable and right at home! This property is designed for visiting, relaxing, and entertaining. There is a full kitchen to your right, which also has a full sized washer and dryer in it for your convenience. Through the living room there is a dining room that doubles as extra sleeping space. From here you can access the full bathroom. There is also a fenced backyard and patio with a fire pit, seating, dining area and grill.You will have full use of the backyard and patio space, with all amenities out there. My employees and I will also occasionally be in this area, as we enter through the backdoor as well. It is a 200 year old log cabin in Woodford County on a cattle farm owned by the same family since the late 1700’s. It is located just 3.7 miles from the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, with 5 distilleries within 10 miles. It is a 20 minute drive to Keeneland and the Bluegrass airport, 35 minutes to the KY Horse Park and 1 hour to Churchill Downs. A great location for anyone attending the Keeneland races or planning to follow the Bourbon Trail.The spaceThe cabin has 1 BR with a double bed downstairs, 2 BRs with 2 twin beds in each room upstairs, 1 BA downstairs and fireplaces in the LR and downstairs BR. The original log potion of the cabin contains the LR and the 3 BRs. The kitchen, study and bathroom are three steps down from the original portion, and the sunroom is 1 step down from the kitchen. Gates are available in the case of small children to avoid falls down the steps. Guests need to take care when using the steps to the upstairs and the steps going from one portion of the cabin to the other since they are narrow and very steep. This is common with old cabins. There is a smart TV in the LR with Netflix available. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove and a dining area. The study has a dedicated work space and Wi-Fi is available. The sunroom has a second dining area, and the washer and dryer. The bathroom has a shower/bath, hair dryer and towel warmer. There is a deck at the back with a propane grill. There are two closets, one in the sunroom and one in an upstairs bedroom. A hat rack and wall pegs have been provided for additional hanging space. Parking is definitely free. The cabin is secluded and peaceful, surrounded by mature trees with areas for walking and just enjoying nature.Guest accessGuests are encourage to walk and enjoy the farm but are not permitted in any barns or fenced areas even if gates are open. There is no swimming, wadding or ice skating allowed on the pond, which is not fence and contains snapping turtles. Also any farm machinery is off limits. This is a working farm, and we want guests, as well as the livestock to remain safe. A map of the farm is included in the "Cabin Manual " with the areas guests are allowed marked.Other things to notePets must be on a leash and children must be supervised at all times for their safety and the safety of the cattle and horses. Some of the fencing is electric so additional care should be taken when close to those fences. There are some signs marking this type of fencing. This is not a good choice for someone with mobility issues because of the steps going from one section of the cabin to another. The Top Shelf is a Kentucky-themed 1400 square foot apartment with equine and bourbon decorative accents from local artists. Upon entering the building, you will fall in love with the open concept kitchen and living room area. This area has great natural light with 10 foot ceilings and refurbished wide-plank poplar hardwood flooring and direct access to a large private deck with grill and seating. The living room has a smart TV on a large exposed brick wall and a sleeper sofa bed. There is a large white quartz countertop eating area in the kitchen that is fully equipped with all the necessary cooking amenities. A large, wide hallway with stunning equine photography leads you to the first bedroom with a queen bed and en-suite full bathroom. This bedroom has an electric fireplace, a smart TV, and closet. The attached, private bathroom has a relaxing, clawfoot tub to soak and relax in with your beverage of choice. The primary bedroom is at the front of the building and boasts three, large windows looking down on Main Street that provide amazing natural light and great view of downtown Versailles. This bedroom has a king size bed, original heart pine hardwood flooring and exposed brick wall with smart TV. There is a nice seating area for two in the room for enjoying your morning coffee! The en-suite primary bathroom has a tub/shower combo and is next to a large walk-in closet with full length mirror, dresser, and security safe. Additionally, the laundry room with a nice washer and dryer is attached to this bathroom. The Top Shelf is located next to Governor's Park which is a small, pocket park with seating and tables to relax, read a book, or enjoy a cone of gelato. The park is accented by a classic Coca Cola mural on the side of our building reminiscent of days gone by. We are minutes from Keeneland Racetrack and the perfect home base for trips to Kentucky's famous distilleries like Woodford Reserve, Buffalo Trace, and Castle &Key.
