Amazing. Simply amazing, great staff, all the facilities you could want, good food, perfect location. As a christmas present to my wife I could not ask for more. Woolacombe is a special place for a getaway and this hotel has it all including most spectacularly a real 1920s-1930s charm. Think upper class Peaky Blinders for fans of the show.

We were walking the South West Coast Path and as it was a special wedding anniversary decided to treat ourselves to an overnight stay in a hotel, expectations were high as the price paid for the night was on the high side (had a dinner bed and breakfast package). On arrival we had a lovely welcome from the man in the car park, he was so cheerful and welcoming, a real credit to the hotel. We were a few hours early for check in but the receptionist kindly phoned us when the room was ready and we were able to check in before time. Position of the hotel is perfect, minutes from the lovely sandy beach and access from the hotel through the grounds. We paid for a sea view room and the room had a small balcony with chairs, it was great to sit outside (fortunately the weather was perfect) and enjoy the view with the tea/coffee and homemade biscuits provided, we also had a great view of the sunset. Felt the room was on the small side but nicely decorated and perfect for a short stay, did notice that one of the windows had blown which was not ideal. Our dinner was included (2 courses) in the Bay Brasserie, we were both a bit disappointed with the meal and the portions were on the small side. The service was good and the food nicely presented, maybe we just made wrong food choices. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, lots of variety. We didn’t use all the facilities that the hotel had to offer (although The Bay Lido looked very inviting) and I appreciate that’s why the cost is so high to stay. Maybe it didn’t quite live up to expectations but we did have an enjoyable stay and loved walking the coast path.

This is a fabulous well appointed old hotel right on the coast. Everything about it is elegant and calming. We wish we had had 2 nights here so we could have enjoyed the spa offerings. Be aware there is a swimming pool so bring your swimsuit. Clean, updated rooms. Full bar/restaurant with terrace to look over the bay. Lovely. Romantic.

Just returned from an overnight stay at the Woolacombe Bay hotel. We had a spa break which also included a 2 course dinner in the brasserie and breakfast at Doyle's. First, we had a sea view room with a free standing tub. It was comfortable, modern and clean. Watching the sunset from the tub was wonderful. We asked for extra pillows and these were brought to the room very quickly. My husband and I each had a treatment at the spa on separate days (but did not use the thermal spa). Each treatment was personalised to our requirements and our therapist, Amy, was wonderful. Magic hands and a lovely person! The spa was warm and comfortable and I'd definitely go back. Dinner at the brasserie was delicious and the staff were great. I asked for gluten free bread and this was easily accomplished with our waitress paying special attention to this and making sure I had the right thing. We had the brie sharer, the duck and the chicken. Portions were good and the quality was spot on. Very tasty. Breakfast at Doyle's had a good offering of continental options and a cooked breakfast. We had the full Devonshire and the veggie breakfast and both were cooked well (excellent eggs and mushrooms) and once again the staff were fantastic. Decent selection of teas and coffee in the bar, which we took out to the lawn. Room service was available but we didn't use it. Parking was easy, although only 1 disabled bay. Have taken one star off due to problems with the elevator. The one nearest reception was out of order and although another was available at the other end of the building, this involved a walk outside due to the ballroom hiding an event, and multiple steps. I have a dodgy knee so this wasn't ideal. If you have accessibility needs I would ring ahead - the hotel is a bit of a rabbit warren with a lot of stairs throughout. All in all, we had a fantastic stay at this charming hotel with amazing views and access to the beach. Wonderful staff really make it and we will be back.

We had a lovely spa night away here for our wedding anniversary. We booked treatments at the spa, all the staff there were very friendly and welcoming. Spa facilities are great - highly recommend booking a Rasul treatment! We also treated ourselves to a film at the lovely little cinema. The cocktails were great, and again the chap behind the bar at the cinema (who also served us at breakfast) was very chatty and friendly too. Our room, while ever so slightly on the cosy side, had a beautiful view of the bay. My husband said the breakfast was the best he has had at a hotel! We honestly couldn’t fault a thing, with the possible exception of the piano having a couple of broken keys :)

We booked a Christmas stay from Christmas eve to the 27th in The Loft Suite. Words almost fail me, We have had the most wonderful Christmas at the Woolacombe bay hotel. We arrived early with no rush to check in but our Suite was ready for us, The lady on reception was wonderful, explaining everything to us and providing us with a very useful map of the hotel, we had mince pies and were taken to our Suite. Wow, the room was spotless and toasty warm, perfect for us and a teenager, we also recieved a welcome gift from the hotel which was a truly lovely touch. We then headed to the brilliant gym for a while and then onto the spa which is lovely, just a shame I left it to late to be able to book in for a treatment. Later in the day we had an absolutely delicious afternoon tea and then we got ready for Christmas Eve dinner. The meal in Doyles was superb, I almost regret enjoying the afternoon tea so close to dinner time! Our waiter Jonathan was lovely, we were served with a fabulous menu, something we didn't expect, the choices were perfect. Then we were given a ticket for a complimentary cocktail at the cocktail masterclass. We enjoyed this however and possibly because we ate later in the evening we saw no cocktail making demo's. The breakfasts here are simply wonderful, perfect eggs, delicious yogurt pots, fresh fruit and pastries. The meal on Christmas day was beyond superb, a glass of champagne on arrival and a lovely bottle of red and white on the table was very much enjoyed with the the 5 course meal ending with cheeses and a delicious port. The evening buffet was just enough and well thought out. Boxing day, Again after meeting friend's locally in the pub up the road the Jube, (absolutely worth a visit) we enjoyed a film in the beautiful Cinema, the bar is just gorgeous and the sofas, wow, what a brilliant experience. Then onto boxing days meal again served by our, by now new best friend Jonathan followed by an at first what felt slightly underwhelming ****** night, I did expect more (as it is in the beautiful ball room) than the 2 tables just plonked in there, maybe some music and the decor/room to be made to feel more like a glam ******, or even move it to the bar as it almost got lost in that huge room, but none the less we spent all night losing all our 60k worth of fake money thank goodness and enjoyed ourselves and the money was fake! After a relaxed breakfast in the 27th it was time to say goodbye to the hotel and possibly the best family Christmas we have ever had, all thanks to all at the Woolacombe Bay Hotel. The food can not be faulted, everything we had was superb with a very well thought out menu every evening. The service in Doyles namely from Jonathan is possibly the best service we have ever experienced in any establishment, he is a total asset to the hotel and deserves to be awarded as such, he made our dining experiences joyful daily so Thank you Jonathan. We will definitely be booking for 2026 as our 2025 has already

We were made to feel welcome from the moment we stepped through the door of this gorgeous hotel. We had the breakfast and dinner deal and it was fabulous. We had room 201 which had an enormous bed for my Mum and an attached single room for myself. Everything we needed was provided and although my room was basic (a bed and wardrobe) it meant I could help Mum if needed and she was having a great time in the lap of luxury. There are two single rooms in the suite so ideal for a family. The restaurant was lovely, the dinner delicious . The breakfast is held in an enormous dining room with views across the bays. All of the team were lovely, but a special mention for Johnathon who was just fab getting Mum cutlery she was able to hold with her arthritic hands and recommending places to visit and just being an all round great I am looking forward to returning. 10/10

All the staff we met were fantastic, very friendly, helpful and attentive , we were blown away by our room with a large balcony with an awesome view of the sea, our bed and pillows were super comfy and the large en-suite inc a bath tub had a modern clean updated feel. The room was so quiet at night, we slept so well. NB There is a kettle with tea, coffee & some nice biscuits, a little fridge & plenty of room for suitcases etc. The breakfasts we had were lovely , there’s a choice of continental, hot cooked meals (eggs etc that you can order in any arrangement ) or bits of everything.
