Having had terrible trouble with booking. Com , Rob at the Lakeside Park and Spa Hotel sorted everything out and was incredibly kind and professional. This is our 2nd stay, and it has amazingly friendly staff who are so helpful and cheerful. Nothing is too much trouble, and the food is 10 out of 10. We will definitely be back and would say to anyone that is thinking about it , you will not be disappointed. Thank you to all the wonderful staff and to Tob.

Wouldn’t class this as a 4* star hotel. Walls in disrepair when walking around the building, TV on wall in room broken so they just added another on the stand leaving the broken one still on the wall, ratty curtains, dirty bath panels, worn light stand in room, not enough toilet roll or shower gel to last, no slippers to access spa, spa robes don’t fit if your a plus size. It’s a shame because it looks lovely online but really, it’s not worth the price tag. On a positive note all the staff were lovely.

I had high hopes for the Lakeside Hotel, but this place was a total disaster from start to finish. Let me break it down: 1. Location: Yes, it’s by the lake, but the view was ruined by filthy windows that clearly hadn’t been cleaned since the last ice age. Plus, the so-called “peaceful surroundings” were anything but – constant noise from delivery trucks and loud guests made it impossible to relax. 2. Rooms: Small, outdated, and musty. The bed felt like it was stuffed with rocks, and the “luxury bedding” they advertised turned out to be a threadbare duvet and a lumpy pillow. The bathroom? Moldy tiles and a shower that alternated between scalding hot and freezing cold. 3. Service: Where do I even start? The staff were indifferent at best, rude at worst. When I politely asked for extra towels, I was told they’d “see what they could do.” Spoiler: they did nothing. 4. Food: The absolute worst part. The restaurant served cold, tasteless meals that even a microwave dinner would outshine. Breakfast was a sad spread of stale pastries and watery coffee. 5. Cleanliness: Don’t even get me started. Dust everywhere, mysterious stains on the carpet, and a lingering smell of dampness in the hallways. It felt like staying in a run-down motel, not a “premium lakeside retreat.” Thankfully, my trip was salvaged when I discovered The Albion Hotel, just a short drive away. What a revelation! From the moment I walked in, I was treated like royalty. The rooms were spotless, the staff attentive, and the real highlight? The food. The Albion boasts the best chefs in the area, and it shows – every meal was a masterpiece. Whether it’s a perfectly cooked steak or a decadent dessert, their kitchen delivers excellence every time. Do yourself a favor: skip the Lakeside Hotel and head straight to The Albion. You’ll thank me later. Rating: 1/5 for the Lakeside Hotel, 5/5 for The Albion Hotel.

My wife and I stayed at Lakeside for one night on a spa break for her birthday. Firstly, I have to say that the staff were so friendly. We had a suite and WOW!! Big enough to live in. The views from the room were stunning. We both had massages in the spa which were very relaxing, finishing in the chill out room. We had our evening meal in the Brasserie and again the staff were very friendly. The food was delicious. We had a great time at Lakeside and will definately be visiting again.

Spa was lovely. Well laid out and appointed - saunas were nice. Very warm and friendly welcome from reception and efficiently checked in. Perfectly heated hot tub indoors and outside jacuzzi very relaxing. Clean and spacious changing facilities. Would recommend.

We were attending a Ball at this venue ( we are Islanders ) so staying over to enjoy a warm room and comfortable bed at location. The room was a little tired witha nice view of lake and Firestone Copse but absolutely freezing cold on arrival so we put the heater fan unit on above door but despite trying to make it hotter it blew cold air so I got in bed to warm up before the ball but I Was shivering. The rooms are very dark with inadequate lighting even the bathroom is murky and no decent lighting by mirror to do make up. There are no USB points and only 1 available plug by oneside of the bed. So one of our phones had to sit on dressing table to charge but sadly had very very slow charge. The bathroom and room generally clean but bathroom has stains of wet foot prints of men's work boots that had dried on and you could see where they had stood . Staff were all excellent throughout hotel. The Ball was brilliant and food very good and they did their best to cater for my food intolerances which I was really impressed with. Sadly no vegan wine available though. My sleep was awful as the room was much too cold and despite hopefully leaving fan on to warm room it was very noisy and cold. In the night I got out of bed and grabbed a ?what I thought was throw/ duvet out of wardrobe to try warm up but then to find it was a stained mattress cover when I put lights on in the morning. There was nothing extra in these cold rooms to help guests warm.up which could have made a difference - Room 36. Only for summer stays until they fix heater.

We have visited the IOW for over 20 years and have never been here before. I surprised my wife with a lunch and spa deal. The lunch in the brasserie looked and tasted superb. The service was very good with friendly and attentive staff. We left stuffed and satisfied. We then went for 3 hours in the spa. Again the lady on the spa reception was lovely and helpful. The spa was great with everything in working order. A good choice of saunas and indoor and outdoor jacuzzis. It was very tranquil and we left refreshed and vitalised. We will definitely be visiting again if not just for lunch.

Booked a suite for my wife’s 50th birthday celebration but very expensive for what we got. OK but could be so much better if they did some updates! Suite was a bit tired in decoration, very old TVs, chipped sinks, toilet could do with a major clean and shower cubicle external base needs better cleaning. Around the lounge ceiling lights show that the ceiling really needs a new coat of paint! Evening meal was delayed to 8:00pm start due to wedding reception, very limited options on the menu and nothing like that shown in the room hotel information folder. Also noticed some fire doors were wedged open!
