We’ve just had an overnight spa break at Ribby Hall. We’ve been many times to the spa, and our second time staying in the hotel. This trip was for a birthday celebration, but we wasn’t asked at any point what the trip was for. The spa was very full. It was difficult to find a space somewhere. We couldn’t use a hot tub, as they were always full and a couple of areas of the spa were broken and out of use. Not very relaxing. We did have treatments and these were lovely. Our room was very dated, and not really what I’d expect from a spa hotel. Especially for the price tag. Our evening meal was lovely and all of the restaurant staff fab. The bar didn’t have many of the drinks that they list on the menu and we asked for, such as rums, gins, and cocktails as ingredients were missing. We decided to order room service breakfast. The breakfast was nice, but massively let down by the coffee being a Nescafé sachet. What happened to fresh coffee? I’ve never been to any hotel with room service breakfast and been given instant coffee that we make ourselves. Our stay was ok, but compared to pasts visits here, it’s massively lost its spark.
