Atour Light Hotel Xiamen Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street Zhonghua City

Although the room isn’t exactly the same as the photos online, the location near Zhongshan South Road is very convenient. The service was good, and we appreciated the small souvenir during check-out.

Excellent service from the very friendly, helpful and patient hotel staff. Hotel rooms are new and clean, breakfast is above average and repeated daily though. Hotel location is excellent as it is just opposite Zhonghua City Mall and within walking distance to Zhongshan Pedestrian Street. Please do note that the hotel entrance is located at the top of a small slope and the road besides the entrance is strictly one way only. When taking Didi or taxi from the hotel, the vehicle is able to pick you up just outside the hotel entrance. When returning to the hotel, the car will only be able to drop you off at the road at the bottom of the slope.

Don't get me wrong, China has improved so much! I was really impressed by the Atour brand on my last trip in Nanjing. This time, after doing some research, I booked two rooms for our entire stay in Xiamen. They have locations all over the city, and I chose one right in town, it was super convenient for getting everywhere! When I checked in, I saw the receptionist mostly by young people. I didn't expect too much of service at first, as long as the rooms were clean and the location was good. But they totally changed my mind! Even though they're young, they were so professional in how they handled everything. Their service style is smart and casual. They actually remember who you are, and my interactions with them were great, especially with Jia and another guy (I didn't catch his name) at check-in. Besides, the breakfast had plenty of choices. My parents are vegetarian, and even they loved it! Anyway, overall, we were super impressed with this hotel. Highly recommended!
