Hotels in Jimei School Village/Xinglin Bay/Yuanbo Garden, Xiamen

As per my previous review, this hotel is the best Crowne plaza i have stayed at and one of the best hotels i have found in China. Without repeating my previous review, the rooms are new and excellent quality, the facilities perfect and the staff are exceptional - always friendly and amenable. Special mention for the housekeeping staff who seem to work tirelessly. I travel extensively so i can be fussy and sometimes dismissive of the ‘hotel experience’, but this hotel is really exceptional. I will return for sure

Seeing that we brought our baby, she also gave us a hotel doll, a golden whale🐳, which the baby loved and couldn't put down

The service is excellent and staff exceptionally responsive, location very close to amenities and reachable by Xiamenbei train and Tianshui metro stations (includes pick up/drop off service). However, while the staff are all kind and friendly, the hotel's management needs to take action as the building's old age and centralised air-conditioning seriously makes this hotel's 4-diamond rating very misleading at best, and undeserving at worst. Despite the interior being renovated, the ancient air-conditioning takes ages to cool. When the issue was raised, the hotel staff claimed to only be able to set the central control to either heating or cooling mode. We weren't able to sleep comfortably at what felt like 25 or 26 degrees Celsius for two separate nights, due the staff apparently having to cater to the majority of guests who felt cold; we were simply told to open the window, which was also old and not double-glazed. The sound insulation is therefore also an issue as we would hear birds chirping in the morning, and adjacent rooms' doors slamming and toilet flushing at various times. The breakfast is equally basic and bland, while the gym and rooftop in abandon, which indicates that they may just as well be saving costs with regards to the air-conditioning. Again, this is not on the staff, but more constructive feedback for the owners and managers to invest in quality and consistency - that would make this hotel actually worthy of its rating.

It’s a lovely, clean place with very caring staff, and a special mention to the always-smiling cleaning lady. I appreciate the room upgrade, early check-in, and the follow-up for feedback after my stay. For those who rely on fancy breakfasts, just a heads-up—it’s a very simple one, but enough to keep you from going hungry. Considering that most places in Xiamen don’t offer breakfast at all, it’s better than nothing. However, as I mentioned to the staff, the drinks could be improved. I couldn’t find anything suitable—milk was sweetened, and coffee already had milk in it. Even just hot water with tea bags would be a better option. Also, keep in mind that reaching most sightseeing spots by taxi takes around 30 minutes. All in all, a great option with good value for money.

The very attentive manager recognized us from a previous visit a few years ago. We were assigned a nicely upgraded room. Beautiful view of the sea. Beautiful sunrises. Extensive breakfast with a very varied choice and good quality. Sufficient choice for dinner.

I stayed here for a week and I can say I did a best choice. They offer a late night free congee buffet between 930pm to 11pm which is uncommon to other hotels. Thank you, Atour Hotel Jimei University and the staffs and to my little friend, Fu Yufei. Until next time...

Plus: Breakfast is simple but delicious, room is clean, hotel is homey, the fragrance of shower gel and shampoo is PERFECTLY great with its woody scent. Location is ok near Jimei but need to travel a bit to the island Minus: My room 105 is next to an area dedicated for hotel's internal usage. In the evening, i kept hearing sound of water flowing and that's distrubing my sleep. I stayed here for two nights, first night was ok, maybe because i didn't have enough sleep during my flight so i didn't aware but the second night was restless. From 2 am, I stayed until morning because of the sound. Not loud but annoying

The Gloria Grand Hotel Xiamen is a truly grant: beautiful, luxurious, spacious. It is in a good location, close to subway that connects to the train station. My friend and I enjoyed hot water springs for a few hours. I had trouble with the safe in the bedroom and called for help. A service person came right away and helped to resolve the issue. The food was a bit more pricy that food in hotels in other cities, but it was okay.

The location is good, it’s close to the Xiamen North Station. The room is new and modern. There are great light-blocking curtains, it was really dark at night. The check-in process was a little long, maybe because they didn’t see foreigners before. Overall the hotel is nice, we often choose this chain

The hotel has free parking, free washing machines and dryers, and a 24-hour gym. There are many equipment in the gym. The sound insulation of the room is good, the air-conditioning temperature is also very comfortable, and there is no noise when opening and closing the door. The room has automatic curtains and window screens, a desk, a small desk lamp, a wireless charging plate, a TV, and a TV that can cast the screen.
