Located in a small alley, you’ll need to walk down some steps to get to this alley from 豹子灣 (Baoziwan Jetty). The hotel is in the quiet corner of FengHuang Old Town, the popular nightspots and pubs on the other end of the river. Our room is on the 4th floor (entrance and reception are located on the 2nd floor, bizarre) overlooking the river, giving magnificent views during the entire stay. Room is small, but comes equipped with a powerful air conditioning. Bathroom is a bit tricky as it is a step up, and the drainage is not very efficient, if you have the shower running for some time, there’s risk of water overflowing into the room.

This place is actually nice, very clean and inside everything is modern and quite new. No English at all whatsoever, but staff is highly careful and helpful via wechat translations. The location is really great, just right in the scenic area. The view from the room is wow. After a day exploring the city grab a bottle of something from the convenience store and enjoy it on the balcony (very few restaurants have red wine, the bars are just a few and the prices for drinks if you are not a beer person are extremely overpriced). In the evening it is quite noisy from the bars around but around 22:30-23:00 it will get quiet. Also city lights are turned off after midnight. You’ll sleep well. Ask taxi to stop at the Hongqiao gate, then there are few minutes walk. In the scenic area no cars are allowed, streets are paved with rough stones so dragging a heavy luggage can be sketchy. There is no lift, so you’ll do your workout for the day. The old city is nice exploring on foot, so a full day is to be spent here to enjoy everything. Recommend also the Phoenix park nearby the Tourist Center (it’s also the hotel with the same name).

I had an unforgettable experience at Xuanyun Viewing Country B&B in Furong Town. From the moment I arrived, the host was warm, welcoming, and extremely helpful. One of the standout touches was the free pick-up service from the high-speed train station, which made arriving super convenient. The B&B itself is in a perfect location only 1 minute walk to the entrance of Furong Town, making it incredibly easy to explore. The room was absolutely perfect: very clean, comfortable, and offering stunning views of the surrounding area. The atmosphere throughout the B&B is peaceful and inviting, a true escape from the hustle of daily life. I truly loved my stay and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Furong. It’s the ideal blend of comfort, hospitality, and location.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What an outstanding piece of architecture that blends so well in the ancient city. All the modern amenities you could ask for. The tranquility environment gives you peace when you stay there. The service was exceptional over and above what most hotels give. Our special thanks to the owner who provided us with generous and wonderful hospitality. Thanks to the girls who helped us to move our luggage out to the main road. She also recommended restaurants and nearby attractions. The room was modern, spacious and luxurious. The lighting and decor in the room was so thoughtful. The mattress was so comfortable and everything was sparkly clean. The breakfast was freshly made, it was delicious. The location was at the centre of the ancient city but you wouldn't hear the noise. A lot of people come to take photos at the main door. We love this place and will come back again, ❣️

Fenghuang ancient city is a amazing, nice place. However, taking taxi is a bad experience. If your group is more than 2 persons, recommend to taking city bus directly without delay. The hotel staff met us at the bus station and fetch us to hotel. Location was very convenient as it's near to the Hongqiao Bridge. Our room for 4 persons is small as we have 4 large luggages and not much walkway. The room was comfortable, and had a fantastic balcony with amazing view.

A Mixed Bag in Fenghuang. My stay in Fenghuang offered a blend of excellent hospitality and comfort with some notable drawbacks. On the positive side, the staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to be helpful, which truly enhanced the experience. The room itself was a haven of comfort; the beds and linens were top-notch, and the couch and desk provided a truly comfortable and functional space. The hotel's location was absolutely perfect, placing us right in the vibrant heart of Fenghuang's action. We also enjoyed a cool view from our room. However, there were a few significant points of caution for future travelers. While we could connect to the Wi-Fi, there was no actual data connection, rendering it effectively useless for internet access. A more concerning issue was the pervasive and foul sewer smell that intermittently filled the room, particularly late at night. It wasn't constant, but when it appeared, it was quite strong and unpleasant. Regarding the view, I had assumed from photos that the hotel was directly on the river. In reality, it's set back about a block, meaning you have to look over some dilapidated buildings to see the river. I suspect lower floors might not have any river view at all. Adding to this, as of May 2025, there's a pretty large construction project occurring just a few meters from the front of the balconies, which could impact the ambiance and noise levels for some guests. Overall, if you prioritize comfort, a central location, and friendly service, this hotel has a lot to offer. Just be prepared for potential Wi-Fi issues, the intermittent sewer smell, and manage your expectations regarding the river view and nearby construction.

Very big room, staff so friendly they help us book tour to miao village and have free for Chinese costumes only pay for photographer. Room same as picture in trip, I got room on 4th floor no elevator. Sound from restaurants around hotel too noisy until 23:30 then it quite time still can accept. Recommended this room for nice view.

Traveled in December, it was nice for us as there wasn’t a lot of people. Really easy to communicate with them through Wechat. They got us a car for train station pick up and drop off. Upon arriving, someone came out to get us. It’s a flight of stairs down first (they offer to help with luggage) but would say to pack light because we were struggling. It’s a couple minutes walk to the place, I believe they have two, so depends which one they bring you to? We got the connecting rooms via balcony. It was nice because it was two rooms and each room had its own bathroom. We were able to see the water bridge (I believe) right outside the balcony which was nice. Good thing we were just on the first floor so with our luggages, stairs wasn’t too bad. Since it was not peak season, even with the bar nearby, it was not too loud for us at night. There’s some restaurants and photoshoot shops nearby as well. We did the photoshoot store right next to this stay and it was just ok for reference, feel like you can get cheaper elsewhere. Everything was pretty clean but there were some issues. Since it was December, it was cold. And when we first arrived, there was no hot water (just all freezing cold water). They said water heater was just cleaned or something when I asked. They said hot water should be back at night but our water when we showered wasn’t too promising. And then the heater was barely warming up the room so we were basically freezing. We took out all our jackets and all and we were still cold. Our room door to the balcony window was also broken which I was frustrated at first since it was cold, no hot water, heater not working, cold air blowing in. They eventually fixed it and I did appreciate the lady giving us portable heaters for the room to use. Overall, I think it’s not a bad place.

Very helpful host who contact me way before I make my way to China!!! Thanks for helping us to get the entry tickets for Furong Ancient Town!!!! We booked 3 rooms and all are super clean and ready for us !!! The Host even help to get a driver to pick us up at the train station!!!! Will definitely come back and visit again for a longer stay .
