This is a hotel that must be highly recommended. The hotel is in a prime location, a 15-minute walk from Anfang Port. The transportation is convenient, and the bus station is a two-minute walk away. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, the lobby manager enthusiastically introduced the hotel and the activities on the island, and also gave us a Chinese version of the travel guide. Knowing that we were going to Shenwenshan the next day, our breakfast was changed to a bento for free. The thing that touched me the most was that on the third day we went to Pingnei Umi-no-ka Onsen. Because the bus schedule had just been adjusted, we missed the last bus. We asked the hotel for help, hoping that they could call a taxi for us. Because it was already dark, the hotel couldn't call a taxi for a while, so they arranged for employees to pick us up over 40 minutes long distance, and they didn't charge any fees. I was very touched and I would like to express my gratitude again.

Splendid sea view from a beautiful, large, bedroom. 2 beds instead of one big. This could have been better to me. Service is excellent. People are nice, always trying to help, being resourceful on how you may handle your visit of the island. Top notch people. The real ”could be better” thing to me is, the restaurant that close really early (8.30pm if my memory is good), does server only buffet for 80kY. The buffet is of quality mixing Japanese, Chinese and Western styles of food. And also comes with nice desserts. However, having the choice to get only one A la carte dish could be a real plus. I personally do not want to get a full buffet for every and each of my diners. And if you do not have a car, finding another place to eat may become a challenge. There is nothing around at a walking distance except a supermarket. The breakfast is definitely qualitative. And if you intend to move early for visiting, the hotel can prepare you a breakfast and a lunch box for no overcharge. Basic but good and appreciated. To have another plus, they serves a local craft beer made with local cedar trees. Quite a good and interesting one.

I went to Yakushima Landes in the heavy rain, so I wanted to take a bath early, so it was before check-in time before going to the nearby day trip hot spring from 15:00, but I bought sashimi and beer for dinner in advance. This Minshuku is well located on the main road between airport and Miyanoura. If you don’t plan to drive, you can take the bus from the airport and will arrive in about 15 min at the Kokumae bus stop ( bus stop in front of the high school) . The bus stop is just in front of the Minshuku. Bus ride costs ¥200. The overall condition of the Minshuku is good. The double room that we had was about 100 sqft, with a wash basin inside the room which is good. The futon were comfortable and blankets were warm. Toilet and shower are shared but they were very clean. Dining area is nice and comfortable. Dinner is excellent with local food. There is free coffee and tea in the reception. The Minshuku offer rental for hiking shoes if you don’t have any. Overall I would recommend this place for the great location and price.

Across the road is Nagata Beach. The owner was very enthusiastic and led us to find the hatched turtles before dawn the next day. Fortunately, we not only saw the turtles running towards the sea, but also saw the footprints of the turtles crawling on the beach like wheels. After checking out, the boss even specifically called us that we had something left in the room, which happened to be picked up on the return trip to West Forest Road. There are also very few people on the beach, and the children have a great time playing at the beach all day.

Because it is a detached house, the １ floor and ２ floor can see the sea well with the ocean view, and there is no light around at night, so the stars and moon are beautiful and you can see a lot. All rooms are clean and easy to use. I asked for breakfast later, but it was a great answer. The appearance and taste are the best. The owner was a chef before, so it tastes great. The bath is like a goemon bath, and you can remember the old feeling.
