located on the main street of yuda onsen. really old hotel in showa era. It was a good experience. onsen are great. the ogami show is great for people who grew up in showa and early heisei era. However, food is not great. those rooms are too old and broken, However, given the price is so affordable, i would definitely return for the onsen

This may be the worst hotel I have stayed in so far. There was a dead pigeon in front of the window when I entered the room... The bathroom was all dirty and messy, and there were stains on the quilt... The waiters seemed to be from the Middle East and India. There's also body odor. Perhaps the most talented person is their proprietress. Although she is very old, she insists on greeting every customer at each table.

The ryokan was large and easy to find as it was located near a bus stop. The breakfast was delicious and the hostess show was nice, but the floor in the hot spring bathroom was broken and the blankets were stained, so it seemed like a little investment in the facilities was needed.

I was prepared after reading other reviews, but it was even better than I expected. It seems to have received numerous acclaim, including the 2021 Rakuten Award, but I wonder how it was rated. Good points: The bath is spacious and empty. The proprietress theater is interesting. In particular, the straightness of the Yamaguchi University student is amazing. Areas for improvement: The boards around the edge of the cypress bath are damaged and about to crack, which was dangerous. The room smells moldy, the sliding door paper is loose, the windows are thin, and the road noise makes it hard to sleep. This is where we stayed for our second night in Yamaguchi Prefecture. The famous female landlady and hot springs are the selling points. The room was quite spacious, but it was on the third floor, so there was no view. One of the top three boys' schools in Tokyo was visiting that day, so the baths were only available after 9:30pm. They were having a great time in the large hall. I wish I could go back to my high school days... The baths are switched between men and women in the evening and in the morning. There is an indoor bath and an open-air bath for each. There is no particular view, but the baths are nice. The rice at breakfast is freshly cooked in a rice cooker and is delicious, but everything else is average. Parking is free, and it's in the city, so there are many convenience stores and bars within walking distance. Thank you very much.
