Hotel Ichibokaku

I stayed here during a trekking trip to Shiga Kogen. When I got there, I realized that this was a hotel I had stayed at more than 20 years ago for my company's ski school. When I checked in, I was told to get a yukata that fit me at the front desk, and I was told to get rice and tea by myself. The breakfast and dinner menu was almost like a company retreat, and was quite different from what was listed on the website. I wish they had reduced the number of dishes, but I wish they had done a better job. I think it would have been better to stay without meals. There seemed to be a group of high school students staying there at the time, and I was worried that students these days wouldn't complain about this. The room had a small toilet and system bath that you don't even get in a business hotel (it would be easier to just have a toilet since there is a hot spring), but there was only hand soap at the sink at the entrance to the room, so I thought that no one would use the bath in the room (there was hair and garbage in the drain). The TV in the room only had an antenna for terrestrial broadcasting, and I was surprised because it was the first time I had seen a hotel, including overseas, that didn't have a satellite tuner connected to an antenna. However, the hot spring was the only place I felt comfortable and relaxed. I don't think I'll use it again.
