Family-friendly Hotels in Yan＇an

Enjoyed a very pleasant 4 day trip to visit the historical and revolutionary sites of Yan’an and the trip was made much better thanks to a very comfortable and convenient stay at the Wanda Realm. For anybody who plans to visit the city I highly recommend this hotel. The hotel is located just to the south of the old city of Yan’an in the newly built Wanda City area. It is a 15-20 minute taxi ride to the old center (depending on traffic) and it’s relatively easy to call a taxi with a ride hailing app like Didi. It’s also within walking distance of the Red Street 红街 tourism area that has a theatre, cinema, activities, coffee shops and restaurants. The hotel is new and all of the main public areas are clean and well maintained - such as the lobby, hotel rooms, restaurant and gym/pool. The gym contains my favorite Life Fitness gym equipment (a quality brand) and the multi-lane, 25m meter pool is a dream for anyone who likes to swim. It even offers a good view. The hotel breakfast is very good value for money and offers a high quality selection of Western-style food (bread, eggs, bacon, sausages and cereals) as well as very tasty local Chinese food - especially local Yan’an/Shanxi noodles and dumplings. For any foreigners like me, you’ll get a good sense of local taste with good ingredients. The room was very clean and spacious with nice balcony and great view of the lake and Red Street. Service staff was excellent and many staff speak good English. We even received a nice hand written message and welcome fruits. Especially if you travel with children, this is where you should stay in Yan’an. Thank you for making my holiday more enjoyable.

After comparing online for a long time, I chose Kanazawa, which has a better location. I went on a National Day trip and stayed for 6 consecutive days. The stay was OK. Advantages: large room, strong water pressure and high temperature for shower, breakfast is not delicious, but it is relatively rich, and it can be slightly changed every day. There is a swimming pool, small supplies are replenished in the room every day, two bottles of milk and a few snacks every day Disadvantages: The facilities are indeed old, the carpet and wallpaper look a bit old and dirty, but to be honest, it has been 15 years since then, and it is considered to be old. It is already very attentive to maintain it to the current state. The bed linen is OK, just put on a disposable quilt cover yourself, it's OK La I read the negative reviews online, such as the loud noise in the KTV and the smell in the bathroom. I was really grateful that none of these extreme situations happened! Since I stayed for several days, I would like to share some tips for staying with you 1. The hotel is divided into A and B areas. You can see Pagoda Mountain from the window of Area B 2. Although the hotel is quite close to Pagoda Mountain and Wanda, the road design in Yan'an is very unique. There are few crosswalks to cross the road. You need to walk through the tunnel to cross the road. You need to walk up and down the stairs, so it takes a while. Suggestions for the hotel: The glass of your sightseeing elevator is so dirty. I was speechless when I saw it. I don't know if it is for sightseeing or dirty~

The service attitude of this hotel is very good, not only the room is comfortable and clean, but the staff always smile, because with the children out, they take the initiative to provide the children's slippers and toiletries, which makes us feel at home. The biggest surprise is that next to Liu Wenxi Art Museum.

The park is covered with green plants. There are outdoor swimming pools for children and adults. Unfortunately, we were in a hurry and didn't have time to experience the water. There are also gardening arrangements, complete housing facilities and equipment, clean and tidy. The staff is very considerate. They turned on the air conditioner in advance, increased the amount of mineral water, and prepared children's slippers. The breakfast is very satisfactory, with Western-style pastries and grains with the characteristics of northern Shaanxi. When checking out, the front desk staff also gave a souvenir, a grain gift bag from northern Shaanxi. In short, I am satisfied! Satisfied! I will recommend other friends to come.

延安大酒店硬件非常好，走廊寬、房間大，雙床都是1.5米的，帶着孩子就是衝著這個大床去的，早餐也行。但酒店的管理太差了，走廊和房間的地毯都是一片片的地圖好像沒有清理過，晚上11點到的酒店，房間居然沒有換床單，被子下邊床單上手摸着一床的小顆粒，不知道啥東西，衞生間坐便竟然有沒有沖走的衞生紙，夜班服務員服務非常好，連夜又打掃了衞生換了床單，第二天到前台反映前台好像不以為然，顯示的五鑽感覺像過去的招待所。

The overall feeling is good The room space is OK for the discounted price. The appearance is not as good as the aerial view in the picture hahaha I think as a state guesthouse, it lacks a garden and walking environment. The venue is large but it is basically a square and a parking lot. The gym is another one open to the public in the basement. I think it is still difficult to find and a bit inconvenient. Before checking out, I met the waiter who came to clean at 12 o'clock. I don't know if it was not communicated well or what. According to reason, it should be cleaned after checking out. If the original price and five-star standard, I feel there is room for improvement

A very special experience; a large parking lot, a concierge brother will carry the luggage when parking, and a housekeeper will recommend the free coffee and tea bar after registration. Because I stayed in the Bird's Nest room with my children, the children were excited and liked to play crazily. The decoration was in log tones, and there was a very special big bird cage bed in the room. The children liked it ”crazy”. The memory foam mattress was warm and comfortable. It should be a big brand. The wake-up service was provided in the morning to remind me to get up on time at 6 o'clock. The breakfast was very rich, especially the intangible cultural heritage ”mutton soup chopped buckwheat noodles” with Shaanxi characteristics. The chopped buckwheat noodles sister kindly helped me to serve the noodles and sauce, and also briefly talked about the origin of chopped buckwheat noodles in the ancient army. The long-handled broadsword for chopping noodles evolved from the saber used in combat. In short, the breakfast process was delicious and warm, and it was worth the price. After the visit, I returned to the hotel the next night. There were two kinds of porridge prepared for tourists in the lobby for free.
