The George Hotel and Beach Club

We had a great stay! The George is a small comfortable historic( King Charles II used to stay here) boutique hotel with a fantastic location right on the beach and great views directly across the solent in the middle of the pretty village of Yarmouth. Its restaurant serves excellent food and the wood panelled bar, with its open fire, has a robust wine & cocktails list. Some great fine wines. Our room overlooking the garden and sea was warm & simple, providing a really comfortable nights stay. The staff without exception were professional, friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. I should mention the slow cooked shoulder of Lamb for two was excellent and frankly staying here feels like being part of a private house party! Easy to get to as-well - the Lymington - Yarmouth ferry is only 50m away so easy to come as a foot passenger if preferred although we took a car to explore a little. Even managed to take a picture of a Spitfire flying over the nearby Needles bathed in the Autumn sunshine! Thankyou Team George for a lovely stay - albeit too short - we will be back!

We walked past this establishment two years ago in the rain and agreed that next time we were on the island we would visit. So, on a warm and dry day recently we were fortunate to have a free day to visit. Sadly, we were late from a meeting in Newport and so couldn’t really get to know the hotel. However, our stay was near perfect. Out of season and largely fully of locals. I enjoyed the beef bourguignon and my first wife said the crème brûlée was one of the best she had had I can’t but recommend The George to all. Also “P” we ordered the glasses thank you you are a star.

We had the most wonderful stay. The hotel’s location is perfect as we didn’t bring our car. Straight off the ferry and turn left, 30 seconds walk and you arrive. Charming hotel full of history. Our Room was very comfortable, clean and we loved the decor. All the staff were warm and friendly. The food was delicious my husband enjoyed the Wagu Burger and I had a perfectly cooked steak. We shared the cheese and biscuits in front of the open fire with another bottle of red. We have already rebooked.

I came with my partner to stay at The George to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had a beautiful weekend here and it felt super special. The rooms are well designed, spacious and comfortable. We highly recommended the rooms with the private terrace as this is a very romantic tough and a lovely place to have a drink in the evening. If you are visiting the Isle Of Wight stay here!

We had a very enjoyable stay here. The room was lovely and the staff were all very attentive. We stayed for three nights and had meals in the restaurant for two of those nights. The food in the restaurant was superb (not the cheapest, but superb), and breakfast in the morning was also very good. The hotel was gaily decorated for the Christmas/New Year period and felt very homely. It was an excellent 3-day winter break. I have read some reviews critical of the service (appears to be in the summer season) but that was not our experience in the quieter winter season - quite the opposite. We hope to stay here again.

Loved this hotel. Beautiful helpful & very friendly staff, awesome location, lovely spacious and well equiped rooms and great breakfast! Can't wait to visit in the Summer! Can only imagine how spectacular and fun this place would be with some sun!
