I rate this a five star couple retreat experience from beginning to end. The 8 seater Island Hoppers flight in from Nadi is an experience in itself with incredible views of the beautiful Yasawas and surrounding reefs whetting the appetite for arrival. The airstrip transfer and check in process was smooth and professional by resort AM Jope, Sikeli and their team. The welcome we and fellow arrivals received from Kaydee the resort GM was heartfelt, informative and refreshing, complete with a lovely welcome song from staff. The arrival in our room was spectacular, we had the double bure on the hill at the southern end of the resort, a luxurious 2br 2 bth villa with a large balcony, and were greeted with sweeping views of the coastline and cliffs, jungle, beach, ocean and reefs. My wife was impressed with the champagne I had pre-organised for our arrival. Complete with the stocked mini bar and Fijian sunshine this made for a relaxing afternoon at the bure, reading and sunbathing on the day bed and cooling off in the private outdoor shower (there were 2 of these at our bure). 6:30 was nightly cocktail hour, and as we arrived on a Sunday, there was a magnificent staff gospel singing choir on the beach. It was obvious from the speech by resort owner Erin, that the local culture is respected with Sunday being a quiet day at the resort with minimal staffing so local villager staff who make up the majority of staff can participate in village religious and cultural festivities. Sai and Sami had the cocktails down pat, by the end of the stay we had tried all the local specials!! Meals were always a highlight, with plenty of variety on offer and often featuring local cuisine. The local fresh caught seafood platter was spectacular. The service from all waitstaff including Kara, Jerry and led by Manasa and Wati was outstanding, friendly and attentive. Despite all this, the highlights for me were the day activities, private picnics at amazing private white sandy beach and snorkelling spots, and a private diving trip to a couple of the most outstanding coral reef dive spots I have seen, healthy and vibrant with beautiful coral and fish specimens. These were ably organised by activities and dive master Pedro, and we felt safe and looked after by all activities staff including captains Bale, Vuni, Apo and Smiga. Our 4 night stay was great but would have loved to have stayed longer, there was heaps more to do we didn’t get to. Thanks again for a great time, we will be back again!

The island itself is absolutely stunning—peaceful, secluded, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. We genuinely enjoyed the natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere, which were definitely the highlights of our stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming, but there were several service issues that impacted our overall experience. We had scheduling and communication problems with a spa appointment, which was frustrating. After bringing it to the attention of the General Manager, she was very understanding and offered us a complimentary session, which we appreciated. It showed the team was trying, but staff training and consistency still need work. Our room was nice and spacious, and we initially looked forward to staying in a deluxe beachfront bure. However, we were disappointed to find that we couldn’t actually see the beach from our room due to thick bushes and trees blocking the view. In addition, there were quite a few bugs in the room, and the towels provided were old and stained, which really took away from the sense of luxury. Unfortunately, the food was another major letdown. The selection was very limited, and the freshness was questionable. Toward the end of our stay, both of us experienced digestion issues that we believe may have been related to the food. On our final night, the lobster served was not fresh, and the only replacement offered was a basic menu item—which felt disappointing and not in line with the level of service expected from a 4.5-star resort. We also booked a beach picnic lunch, which turned out to be a disaster. We were dropped off at a beach with visible trash and debris, and the “setup” was just two mats and a pillow placed off to the side. We voiced our concerns to the GM, who apologized and attempted to reschedule the experience. However, due to bad weather, we couldn’t do it another day. This brings us to a key point: most guests are only here for a short period, and weather is always a factor. So getting things right the first time is crucial—there’s often no second chance to make it up. The resort must be better prepared and more attentive from the outset, especially given the high price point and strong reputation it carries. Overall, while the island is beautiful and the staff tried to make things right, the resort needs to improve significantly in terms of food quality, room maintenance, staff training, and attention to detail to truly live up to its luxury branding.

The worst " Resort" in the world. Bad food, bad staff, bad rooms; bad drinks. Nothing pleasant to say. Communication via a walkie-talkie. No renovations as they claim. The day spa comes to you as there is not one.Would give 0 stars if could.Left early due to false and misleading advertising. Be very very careful. Travelled the world and stayed in better 1 star backpackers with better accommodation and food. They should be ashamed of themselves.

I can NOT say enough about our time at Yasawa Resort and spa. My daughter and I snuck away for a birthday trip and plan on returning. The sites, the water, the beaches and the sunsets! Erin and her staff are some of the most generous, friendly, beautiful people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! And the private seafood platter night on the beach for our birthdays!!? I HIGHLY recommend booking a trip here! Will forever hold a special place in my heart❤️

Everything about our trip has been exactly as promised. Relaxing, lovely staff and excellent service. Food and dining experience is outstanding and the Bure a lovely stay right on the beachfront. If it’s a relaxing recharge you are looking for then this is the resort for you.

My wife and I were looking for a honeymoon getaway via Costco Travel. Considering how far from home it is and the cost, we were a little hesitant about choosing Yasawa Island Resort. However, after 7 days of pure bliss, we now have a core memory of a place we previously only thought existed in dreams. Located in the heart of Fiji's archipelago, Yasawa Island Resort is nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the mainland. Arriving at the resort by charter plane was an experience on its own. On the way, you get to see how clear the turquoise waters are. How gorgeous the beach sands are. And just how many islands Fiji has to offer. A breathtaking backdrop that feels almost surreal. Prior to landing, we were already greeted by the stunning and lush greenery, inviting us to trust in nature. Even the airstrip itself is green. As soon as we landed, we were welcomed by song and Salusalu (Fijian Lei). After a bumpy but short van ride, we arrived at the resort itself. Once again, welcomed by song, but this time, to include the entire staff! All the while being handed a fresh coconut to drink and a vibe to soak in. This was the commitment stage. The promise to fully immerse ourselves in this. The promise to disconnect from our technology driven society and embrace the experience the resort has so carefully preserved and curated for the guests. The exceptional service provided by the staff is what truly sets Yasawa Island Resort apart. Every day, we felt genuine warmth and hospitality. The staff's attention to detail and commitment to ensuring our stay was perfect was evident in every interaction. Whether it was organizing a special excursion (daily private beach picnics), accommodating dietary preferences, or simply offering a friendly smile, the team at Yasawa Island Resort went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. And it was. We stayed in the Deluxe Beachfront Bure. To us, it was perfect. A beautiful living room, a comfortable bed, and an outside shower that’s simply to die for. Since there are no TVs or wifi in the rooms (the purpose is to disconnect from technology, remember?), we were falling asleep to the sounds of the ocean waves gracefully crashing onto the shore every night. We were fortunate enough to have a full moon one night, so we walked the beach, and it was breathtaking. The moonlight lit up everything around us and with the ocean right there, everything was a shade of blue. A sight I will never forget. We saw a few people in the reviews complaining about the food, so we didn’t know what to expect. Glad we didn’t listen. The food was incredible!!! You have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For breakfast, you have a bunch of choices, with every day having a new ‘breakfast special’. For lunch and dinner, the chef gives you two options to choose from. Suffice to say, me thinking I was going to lose weight while on vacation was a complete pipe dream. Especially with that dessert always doing what it was supposed to do. The activiti

When we decided to go to Fiji, we had a specific experience in mind: we did not want the sterile, crowded, large resort that might as well have been in Mexico or someplace else. While we did want comfort and luxury, we also wanted value, beauty, authenticity, and a distinctive character. We did extensive research and It all pointed to Yasawa Island Resort. We were not disappointed with what we found during our stay. Our bure was large and comfortable and right on the beach. It was well-maintained and very clean. Housekeeping came every day and even left fresh flowers. We had turn down service every night. Sure, there was the occasional lizard and a few ants but they were never a bother. YIR is a beautiful, unspoiled, place—the resort has purposely disturbed the environs to the smallest amount possible to accommodate the bures and other facilities. This means that you are surrounded by lush plants and flowers. If a lizard or a few ants are the result of that, it’s a trade that I’m willing to make. The staff are unbelievably attentive, kind, and dedicated to your happiness while on their island. They treat you like honored guests or family and you quickly develop one-on-one relationships with each of them. The staff learn your names and remember facts about you. They are proud to share their home and their culture with you. Each staff member exudes joy and it is infectious. It rained frequently during our visit (we knew it would be the rainy season when we booked), which made some of the planned activities difficult, but Pedro, Smiga, Dan and all of the staff worked hard and still made sure that we got to do the things that we wanted to do. It was a significant logistical challenge but they did it and remained unfailingly cheerful throughout it all. The food was delicious and abundant and the restaurant seevice, friendly and attentive. The massages and other spa treatments were excellent and having the services done overlooking the ocean was magical and relaxing. Get the Ultimate Spa package for a spa service every day—it is very much worth it. On Christmas Eve, the children from the local villages came and shared Christmas with us by singing carols. They had been practicing for weeks. Afterward, each of them shook the hand of each guest—a touching show of friendliness and respect. The children also came caroling on Christmas morning and stopped at each bure to share a song just for us. These children included many children of staff members and you could see their pride as they watched and took pictures and videos of their children like any proud parent. To have been able to share in their Christmas—to have them share their Christmas with us, total strangers—was so special and hospitable and unforgettable. Before heading to Yasawa Island, we spent a couple of days at another resort on the main island of Viti Levu. More than once, when we told the Fijian staff at that resort or at various places in and around Nadi that our next stop was Yasawa

We spent 10 days at Yasawa in September 2024 and I have tried several times to write a review but honestly find myself at a loss for words to adequately describe our amazing experience. Some background…. I saw the original episode on HVTV Island Hunters almost 10 years ago and said to my husband “We have to go there!” Life got busy with raising children and caring for parents and then the world shut down and we pretty much decided the trip just was not going to happen. Our 4 adult children stepped in and told us we HAD to go because they had heard us talk about it so many times! Having said that we both wondered if Yasawa would live up to our dreams of it. We can say it lived up to and exceeded every expectation we had! Travel - the trip is long from the east coast of the US but so worth it! This is our first time using Costco travel but definitely won’t be our last! They did a phenomenal job! Pay attention to luggage weight restrictions! For the long layover in Nadi walk over to Gateway Fiji and enjoy good food and relax by the pool! The flight to Yasawa is quick and fabulous! The Resort - beautiful beyond words. Meticulously maintained. Updated furnishings. Comfortable beds. More than we could have imagined from the moment we landed and the staff singing upon our arrival to our first walk on the beach! The Bure was very large and private and beautiful! Meals were delicious and the food was fresh and plentiful. Activities were awesome! We had a private beach picnic almost every day and each beach was different and beautiful. We snorkeled, went to the caves, visited the village (and worshipped with them at church) and hiked! Starting each morning with an oceanfront couples massage was to die for. We made new friends and got to know the lovely staff and did not want to leave after 10 days. The Staff - Yasawa is amazing but it is the staff that makes it so special. They truly treat you like family! So kind and joyful. They will go above and beyond to make sure your experience is the BEST. A few examples: Paul answering allll my emails and questions and helping me plan a surprise vow renewal and birthday celebration for my husband… Dan making sure we got to go to Yawini Beach on our last morning as it had just re-opened…. We also really enjoyed meeting James McCann (the owner) and the time he spent with us sharing the history of Yasawa! The choir and cultural evening were so special! Honestly just the most lovely people! To wrap it up…. We said this was a “once in a lifetime trip”…. But after the first day we had already decided to return! Until next time..
