very good hotel for family trip

From the moment we arrived the bellboy said no leave your cases at the door and showed us to the reception desk. The duty manager showed us straight to the restaurant and made sure we had food and some drinks after our flight and journey to the hotel which I thought was very comforting and they had took into consideration of our travel. Exceptional welcoming to the hotel. We then were shown to our rooms which were nice spacious and well maintained. We had a main pool view from the 1st floor. The bellboy then brought up our cases. The rooms where very clean through out our stay and the maid Monica or moira room 503/504 was very good friendly and made us all different sculptures with flower decorations throughout our stay. The hotel complex was very clean but I would like to point out my only thing I didn’t like was many customers didn’t use the flower pots for there cigarettes and left them around the grass verges and round the pool and would of liked the staff to of swept the grass through out the day and on a morning. I did ask but it wasn’t done regular. The man who did the piano was very lovely he did a great job! The entertainment staff and activities to do they was plenty to do throughout our stay. We would have liked a pool party or foam party but only one that happened but unfortunately we missed it and second week it was cancelled. We would like to thank especially Amber Charlie Owen and Mario and the girls who did the singing and the dances in the amphitheatre , Charlie your Aqua aerobics was very fun all the rest stood at the pool no you got in the pool and made it extra fun and enjoyable. The food in the magico restaurant was brilliant plenty of choice. Personally didn’t like the breakfast sausages but they was a choice for everyone. The ala carte restaurants from our preference 1st Tunisia, 2nd Italian and 3rd American. Was amazing I loved all the table decorations. The kids club was suitable for all ages and an extra thank you to Amber for encouraging my daughter to participate. The lovely leaving pack was an extra touch. Security was very good! At the beach around the complex and the life guards. Thank you to Lettifa for arranging me a fan went out the complex and bought one as yes the air conditioning is good but I’m menopausal. The great customer service manager Hedi and how attentive he is to the cats! Momo I would definitely recommend for the camel trip! Pirate ship is very good! If you go off complex down the harbour watch yourselves because there are a lot of ripoff merchants. One tried to tell us the wrong exchange rate for the pound against the dinar but my husband spoke the bank manager outside and he confirmed what he thought it was. He then tried to put some rubbish in the bag instead of what he he had sold us. The hotel had a incident with a German women who we later found out that she’s dating the entertainment manager and thought her behaviour was acceptable for her mum to abuse a couple with children throwing there

It was my first visit to Tunisia and Tunis overall. Once landed and collected bags from the airport, I’ve headed out to the meet and greet area for Tui. The stand is quite small so you have to look out for it but it’s not difficult to find. The transfer provided by Tui was supposed to take about an hour and 20 minutes so I’ve decided to take a taxi from the front of the airport. You can check on Bolt that the taxi from the airport to the hotel is normally about 70 TND about £18 - obviously drivers will give you an absurd number like 200 TND but you can either negotiate it down to 100 or call one on Bolt. The check in process was seamless. Paid the foreigner tax and been helped by the bell boy to my room. The room, was clean and spacious. No complaints there. The only note to mention that the AC was not truly working it was mostly a built in fan, I have asked around and I think the main unit may have been switched off as it was not as hot for the locals. The rooms are getting turned over daily unless you ask for the maid to skip a day. The only other note I’d mention here is that the minibar (water and soft drinks) did not get replenished which in most all inclusive hotels are done during the cleaning process. I’ve used the laundry service to get shirts ironed and washed - this was quick and seamless. Restaurants and the buffet. You could tell it was the slow season as the buffet food was very repetitive. There were 2 themed nights if I remember correctly. Other than that there is a good variety of food so unless you like to eat at tapas style and try everything there would be something new to try every day. The specialty restaurants - unfortunately I only managed to try the Italian as that was the one I read the most good reviews from but I must say it was absolutely disappointing. To start off the starter the pasta with cheese was overcooked, disgusting and it had no Italian flavours at all. The pasta you can make in the buffet at the pasta station was a 100x times better than the pasta in the specialty restaurants. Then I wanted to sample two mains but I was told that was not possible so I want with the florentine style fish - well I don’t know which Florence was the chef thinking of but definitely not the one I was. The ricotta cake well it was not a ricotta cake - overall the specialty restaurant gets a 0 Servers and bar staff very very nice - after a few days that have learned my drink of choice and it was waiting for me by the time I got to the bar or while I was sitting outside. The entertainment team was top notch. They joined in for drinks to keep company. Invited me to activities and partied together until they have clocked off. They were the highlight of the trip. The hotel is only 40 minutes from the airport so a nice quick transfer. Upon arrival we were given a cool drink and advised to get some lunch as our room was not ready yet. When we returned our room was ready, still 2 hours earlier than the normal check in time which was great. Our room was very spacious and simple with a large balcony. The comments regarding the leaking showers are correct but this could temporarily be fixed by extra towels being provided. It would also be nice for nicer amenities to be provided considering this is a 5* hotel. There was only basic hand soap and a multi purpose dispenser in the shower. There was plenty of variety in the buffet restaurant including hot and cold food as well as some ‘British’ food if preferred. The food at the a la carte restaurants is nice but only marginally better than the buffet restaurant. There is good variety of foods at the pool bar if you prefer not to go to the main restaurant for lunch. The pool areas are brilliant and are sectioned off so well that you forget you are at a large hotel. We had no issue getting a sun lounger even on the days we arrived at 11am. The sun loungers are the comfiest I have ever sat on. The beach is very clean and has security. There are people selling camel rides, scarves etc but they leave you alone if you say no. There is also an area of the beach that the public cannot access if you do not wish to be bothered by this. The evening entertainment is good and varied. We really enjoyed the beach party and Bavarian night. There is also a lovely older gentleman playing piano in the atrium every evening. The staff throughout the hotel are very friendly and always say hello. Everything is kept very clean and well maintained with glasses being collected regularly. We regularly saw staff fixing things such as pool lights and gardeners maintaining the area. There are also plenty of recycling bins which were emptied regularly. A taxi to the nearby marina (5 minutes away) and restaurants is only 5-10 TND (£1.25-£2.50) or can be walked in 25-40 minutes. The walk is safe during daylight hours. I recommend Carthage Land theme park which offers tickets for around £12.50 and the nearby restaurant Beer Garden Brasserie. Improvements The issue with the showers needs to be sorted and as a temporary measure all rooms should be given extra towels as standard. Nicer amenities in the bathroom. Tips Take cash of any currency. This can then be exchanged into dinar at the airport or hotel. The nearest cash point is a 40 minute walk away. Do not drink the tap water or ice.

Just got back from a week at Magic life Africania. We went as a married couple for a week just to relax and unwind. The hotel grounds and pools are like a paradise clean and very well kept. The entertainment team do come round to ask you to join in activity's but are not pushy and understand if you'd rather not. I've read other reviews about children not being involved but as we were holidaying alone I can't comment. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with a fridge and on arrival water and soft drinks were in there for you. The entertainment at night is good although we were a little disappointed the fireshow and the bellydancer got canceled. However the staff in general are amazing and can't say anything negative about a single one. Have to give a extra special shout out to Heidi my wife has coeliac disease and he went above and beyond to help her in the buffet (food was delicious)and regularly checked in her to make sure she was OK. Such a lovely man. Overall it is a brilliant all inclusive resort. And we wouldn't hesitate to come back. My only little itsy bitsy negative comment would be no kettle and tea coffee making facilities in the room. However I was told on day 7 if I'd have asked this would be provided. I know some people had tea coffee and kettle in their room on arrival. Bit unsure why this isn't standard across the board? So if not there ask. All in all the magic is real
