Filthy and disappointing . So much dust on and in the cabinets it caused my partner to have breathing issues , stagnant water left in the kettle ,old hairs in the bed , We got Moved to a different room and found confetti from the previous guests inside the bed. Must of been a wedding night . Dinner was terrible. 30 quid for a steak and 3 quarters of it was gristle. So I only got 3oz of steak for 30 quid. Breakfast was terrible. My fork was as bent and the bacon was tougher than my leather belt. So much water off the scrambled eggs is made my whole breakfast taste like dishwater .

Over priced for what you expect *dirty pool area /dark /jacuzzi ridiculously hot *nowhere to sit so had to put clean towels on floor *dated mahogany room with micro bath for a child *dirty rooms the dust was terrible to the point we had to change rooms *tea facilities shocking and cheap with stale biscuits and stagnant water in kettle * food over seasoned /steak was not worth the price grizzly *breakfast (continental) basic * on leaving the car park design must have been drawn out by monkeys Apart from the lovely staff in the dining area I would not recommend this hotel and to think I came hear to scote the place for my wedding I think not now

Had a lovely day at the spa with a mud treatment, then an afternoon tea in the Blas restaurant. We were greeted by the delightful Sara, who made us feel very welcome ,even in this busy environment she had time to make conversation and look after our every need .Thank-you so much .

I have never written a negative review before, staying away regularly with work. I have stayed at this hotel on 2 occasions, the first I changed rooms as it was dirty, cold and missing light bulbs etc. The 2nd more recent stay was worse in terms of a burn I sustained on my wrist from a fraction of a second touch on the 'scalding' towel rail in the bathroom. Clearly this was a dangerous appliance to cause such damage at this temperature. It was not simply warm or hot as you would expect, but literally burnt through my skin as I accidentally touched it when removing the towel. I am left with a scar. I completed an incident report form the next morning, for which the hotel will not send me a copy. The response from the management has been horrendous - no follow up, no response to my emails until chased but still no answer to what actions they have taken to remove this appliance or mitigate injury to another guest. As I said to them at the time, had a child touched ths rail, they would have no doubt been hospitalised. It was beyond simply 'hot'. It was dangerous and certainly not labelled as such. The manager seems to blame me for touching a 'hot' appliance with no apology or response to my emails and is clearly refusing to accept any responsibility for this incident. Customer care or safety clearly does not apply here and I would urge any hotel guests to think twice about staying at this establishment that markets itself as 4* with luxurious rooms. This could not be further from the reality.

Room was not “luxurious” by any means. Old dark furniture, random “split” bathroom which essentially means a sink in the room and a separate bath (dirty) / shower (with horrid shower curtain) and toilet. Towel rail didn’t work. TV couldn’t hold reception so unusable. Cheap little kettle and motel cups. No hairdryer - had to ask. No power sockets near the bed. Freezing cold on arrival - room heating, if turned on, sounded like you had a monkey banging the air con shaft through the night - forget being able to sleep!! Heard others saying similar at breakfast so not an issue isolated to just our room. Requested & paid for cakes on arrival - they weren’t there. Restaurant experience was horrendous. Took forever. Red wine was almost freezing then heated up so it fizzed when opened. Chips (kids meal) were cold. Jus on beef dish was that salty we coughed. Curry “special” lacked any sauce, forgot mango chutney, and seemingly forgot curry powder and chilli. Worst part was the approach taken by the GM - apparently if I thought it was that bad, I should have checked out immediately (despite travelling 2.5hrs there, and everything nearby booked due to England v Wales on at Cardiff). The most customer unfriendly and offensive approach I’ve ever encountered in all my years. For balance, lady on front desk was great (& very apologetic) 12 sent emails later to argue a £200 refund, despite requesting a full £600 refund. Would not return. Could not recommend.

Went for an evening meal with my wife and although the restaurant was only half full service was slow. There was a group of older staff members standing around the bar doing nothing. As someone who works in senior restaurant management this isn't acceptable. However a young girl Ellie was exceptional - she worked hard and was non stop. Smiling, polite and helpful - I would happily employ her at my work and she would easily fit in at my last job in The Savoy. Don't lose this girl as she is working harder then any other staff member and probably the only reason I would return.

Oh gosh, where to start?! We were visiting for an event, and being friends who didn’t want to share a bed, we booked a “Junior Suite” costing £220 per night, which provided a sofa bed as well as a king. For that amount of money at a hotel and spa graded 4 star, maybe our expectations were fairly high. We were not prepared for a room in the basement, with so much heavy dark furniture, it was virtually impossible to open the door or move around the room once the sofa bed was open. In particular, there’s an enormous cupboard in the middle of the room containing just a kettle a tray and a rubbish bin. The bathroom is in two parts, with washbasin m in an alcove and a very short bath with shower over. There is no towel rail by the sink, so dripping hands between sink and bathroom. All of the above were inconvenient, but the worst was to come when we found a driving license belonging to a previous occupant of the room next to the television - this surely calls into question the thoroughness of cleaning. Open reporting the above to reception on check out, we received no apology and were told the sofa bed should have been turned round to make more room. We won’t be back!

We booked bryn meadows for my daughters wedding, we arrived the day before the wedding and checked out the day after , from the time we arrived all the staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble for any of them they were polite and professional at all times, The speed and efficiency that they turned the rooms around from the ceremony to the afternoon sitdown meal through to the evening event. I would like to give a special mention to Tracey Stokes who went above and beyond with every request that was made of her, nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend Bryn Meadows to anybody who is looking for a venue, from the stunning views of the Golf course to the amazing customer service from every member of staff
