There were a few things I liked and did not like about this Best Western. I'll break it out into sections: THE ROOM- Decent size and room for a family of 4 to move around, Free Wifi, 2 chairs, and a table, Fridge, microwave, closet with iron and ironing board. Beds and pillows were comfortable and the AC worked well. Bathroom was your standard one and clean. What I didn't like was the chairs had been overlooked and there were lots of crumbs and a part of a plastic wrapper on it. THE POOL: The pool was a decent size- 6ft. deep. A little cool for an indoor pool, but not bad. It was Handicap accessible as well. We swam right before they closed and they did end up running out of towels for the next people who came in after us. BREAKFAST: The breakfast had multiple hot food items as well as your typical continental breakfast options. I did stay at a different BW the night before and that one had a few more hot items, and a hot drink machine that offered many more drink choices, but the only thing we really missed from those was the hot cocoa. The breakfast overall though was decent. It filled us up. It was worth advertising that breakfast was included. HOTEL APPEARANCE: small lobby and convenience shop. The lobby did have a slight odor, but I think it was from the pool which was right next to it. There was a large breakfast room, I did have a hard time finding the stairs. We don't know where they were, but we also didn't look too hard. Also the carpets throughout were very faded and the hallway needed another vacuum. But I tend to judge hotels by their carpets, and their carpets just seem worn, tired, and dated. The carpets could use a refresher but that part doesn't change the function of the hotel. LOCATION: It was quiet, while also being near a road that had lots of restaurants, supermarkets and pharmacies. (which I needed to use). Very convenient to the beaches and outlets. STAFF: I didn't really interact with the staff, however when we passed in the hallways every one of them greeted us in some way. OVERALL: I give this a 7. It would have been a 9 if the room had been a little cleaner and the pool a little warmer and maybe just a couple of other options at breakfast. I am comparing this to the other one I stayed at in Scarborough the night before and I did prefer that other one. If I hadn't been there, this one might have scored a little better.

When you stay at The Rhumb Line Resort in Kennebunkport, you'll be near the beach, within a 5-minute drive of Vaughn's Island Preserve and Walker's Point. This motel is 14.1 mi (22.7 km) from Engine and 12.4 mi (19.9 km) from Ogunquit Beach.Dip into one of the 2 spa tubs or enjoy other recreational amenities, which include a fitness center. Additional features at this motel include complimentary wireless internet access, a picnic area, and a banquet hall.Enjoy American cuisine at Admirals Table, a poolside family restaurant which features a bar/lounge. Although we did not actually stay here, I want to explain why to warn others about what can potentially happen. I booked our two rooms way back in April 2024 for this week in October. Exactly 7 days before our anticipated arrival, the hotel contacted me to offer me our two rooms at one of their sister properties because they are overbooked. I quickly researched their other two properties and they are both small older motels that I would never want to stay at. So, I declined being moved and asked how this could happen to someone that booked 6 months ago. After I knew she was just making excuses, I told her that my job is a motorcoach driver and I know how these sales with groups can push individuals out and that point, she did admit that “sales had booked two bus loads in and her at home online sales program apparently wasn’t connected with their in house program”. Knowing that we would not want to be put in a crowded hotel situation with two bus loads in that breakfast room every morning, I decided to find us two rooms elsewhere of which was difficult to do at a weeks notice in Ogunquit during Fall foliage season. However, it worked out for us and I am writing this only to advise others what can happen at this property. Because of this situation we were put in, I would NEVER book at this Holiday Inn Express property ever again.

To be honest, the environment of the hotel is really quite good. The sea view of the hotel is very shocking. It is also a good place to escape the heat in the hot summer. You can also see the sunrise and the moonlight at night is also very beautiful; but it is indeed not cost-effective. It is not worth it at this price. The room is very small. Moreover, the down quilt in the room will drop feathers, and you will sneeze when you sleep and always feel that you have inhaled a little and it is very uncomfortable. Service: For a hotel at this price, it is also average, mediocre. If it were not for the beautiful scenery, it might be bad. The phone in the room I stayed in was also broken, and I couldn’t get through to the room service and couldn’t order food in the room. Facilities: There is no buffet breakfast in the hotel. The single-order breakfast is not cost-effective and not delicious; but the coffee, tea, soda and fresh milk in the self-service area are still good. The lobster is delicious. I ordered two two-pound ones, 66 dollars each, which is very big. As for the swimming pool, there is a hot spring, and you should be able to see the small pool with a sea view, but the swimming pool is not open until after nine o'clock, which feels a bit too late. It closes at ten o'clock in the evening. Also the check in time was too late at 4pm and the check out time was too early at 11am.
