Dinner and breakfast was included in the package so we did not have to worry about finding nearby restaurants. The food was delicious here! Would definitely recommend if you enjoy traditional Japanese meals to get the full experience. We had a private barbecue for dinner, and it was truly immaculate! However, there was smoke all over the hotel lobby coming from the barbecue so it would have been better if they kept the windows opened. It was also indoors so it was slightly overwhelming with all the smoke everywhere in the restaurant. But everything else was on point and breakfast was particularly delicious.

Yufuin is very suitable for bicycle tours. It is recommended to take the road opposite the Ryokan River. Walk along the river. There are guardrails and there are no people.

The tatami room was clean and spacious. Walls are a bit thin. I could actually hear sound from next door or people walking around the hallway. The futon mattress was quite thin and the pillow too hard for me. Also, I found that the filters of humidifier were so dirty that I washed them myself. Toilets are shared by all guests but only one is for female (two for male). When I brushed my teeth and washed my face, I had to let the water run for a long time before hot water came out. ¥150 of hot spring tax was collected upon check-in, of which I was not informed in advance.

In the morning, my aunt took me to Yufuin Station. If you want modern facilities, I do not recommend it. Keep the check-in time and go And you must take a taxi from Yufuin Station to your accommodation. I walked, but the road is rough. The hot springs are until 10pm and the entrance door is closed after 10pm, so I went to a convenience store before that. You have to buy food (it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the convenience store) I want to visit again. I will rest very comfortably and come again next time.
