Location very near to the prince hotel Naeba
Have bus from city but it would be much convenient if you go by rental car.
Resturant and room are in the different building
No Onsen but hot public bath is avaliable.
Very close to echigo yuzawa station Surrounded by ski resort and delicious restaurants. Breakfast is great value. Recommend you come and stay.
Self- check in but they have manual how to check in and get the key in the key locker
The interior of the old house has been completely renovated and the rooms are unique and Japanese with the warmth of tatami mats
It is located right in front of the Yuzawa Kogen Ropeway making it the perfect location for sightseeing in Echigo Yuzawa
In winter you can enjoy smooth skiing by using the shuttle bus the boarding point is right in front to the nearby ski resort
You can relax quietly in one of the three private rooms available
We have carefully designed the room in three fun colors so that you can feel the power of color
The host who loves Yuzawa and moved there will share information about the city of Yuzawa and provide hospitality to make your trip a memorable one
Simple and comfortable service attitude is good, can communicate the traffic car, assist in carrying to the snow field.
The water dispenser inside provides hot tea, a little farther from the city, so the convenience store is not convenient, you can buy it first and then go up.

Outstanding
TTravellingcThe hotel is new and clean. The food is so good and the portion is a good fit for a lady. The onsen is wonderful with very nice cosmetic supply. However, the room may be a bit small if you have many luggages; but so comfy for solo travellers.

SSilverGeckoThis is our 3rd week of 4 weeks exploring Japan and so far Yuzawa Grand is the best Ryokan Onsen experience we have had. We could have spent several days there it was sublime. We arrived in the morning and the staff were extremely welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. We had been told by the tourist centre at the train station that the gondola wasn’t operational for 3 days; however the Yuzawa Receptionist assured us that it was operating and showed us that they were even able to sell us tickets at a discount. She gave us a map and bus timetable, showing us where everything was. They stored our backpacks for us and off we went exploring and had a marvellous time. We soaked our feet in the foot baths while having a treat before catching the bus to the mountains. We came back to our gorgeous room which had a coffee pod machine in it. Was so nice having a coffee in the morning looking out the window. We enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful Onsens before dinner. The buffet at both dinner and breakfast was incredible, everything so beautifully presented and incredibly delicious.
Highly recommend this gorgeous hotel. The staff are fantastic and the ambiance very peaceful.
MMindy-WVery attentive service. There is a Chinese-speaking front desk. It’s super convenient to use the car. We picked up and dropped off at the ski resort. The driver was very enthusiastic. We took the Shinkansen from the ski resort to Tokyo the next day. The front desk directly helped us deliver our luggage to GALA Snow Resort. Field, so convenient.
The room is large, although it is a bit old, but it is very well maintained. There is also a free sake lees facial mask in the large bathing hot spring on the first floor. My skin was very smooth and tender the next morning. Coffee and ice cream are also provided for free, and it's particularly refreshing after bathing. The furniture in the study room is all made of old camphor wood. Sitting there and reading a book, the smell of fragrance is very healing.
We arrived on Monday and originally wanted to make a reservation for dinner the next day, but unfortunately the chef was closed on Tuesday. You can also dine directly in the hot spring street or Yuzawa Station, and there are almost no surprises. On Monday and Tuesday, there are slightly fewer people in the ski resort, which makes the experience better.
Thank you again to all the service staff at Gaoban for giving us a particularly pleasant holiday experience. Next time, we will come again.
ZZoe0209The friendly grandpa welcomes you at the counter. There is a bathhouse on the second floor where you can take a bath and the door can be locked! The room I stayed in had a Japanese-style tatami floor. What surprised me most was that the room had its own bathroom facilities. The overall stay was very comfortable. It was not too far from the station and there was a FamilyMart convenience store nearby.
GGuest UserTravelled here with 2 toddlers and the place is fantastic. We took the room with the open air bath for them to enjoy and it comes with our very own one backyard of snow! The kids were playing in the snow and jumping jn the Bathtub after. The hotsprings are fantastic , they have a huge variety and they switch the female and males after every few hours so you will enjoy diff type of hotsprings.. they even had a tea hotspring where they full up the tub with tea leaves. The amenities provided is great, you literally do not need to bring any of yours, everything is provided, even pajamas. The skii resorts are convenient to get too and when you reach echiga Station, you can ask the tourist centre to call the Hotel for a pick up
GGuest UserJapanese tatami, the room staff will come to make the bed at night, and the action is very fast. The room view is very good, and it is very convenient to go downstairs to ski. Please note that this ski resort is for double boards, and single board friends can choose other ski resorts. It is very suitable for bringing children. There is a restaurant downstairs, which is simple and convenient. You can also choose to eat in the town below. Remember to make an appointment in advance, whether it is dining or taking a taxi.
GGuest UserThe staff is friendly and the breakfast is delicious.
The room was a little cold, but there were plenty of blankets, so it wasn't too uncomfortable.
If you like a simple atmosphere with a sentimental interior, I recommend it!
AAprilCOur trip to Naeba was seamless. We booked our shinkansen ticket online, so we know what time we need to be at Tokyo Station. Prior to our trip, I've booked online via the hotel website their free shuttle. As I know that we would arrive at Echigo-Yuzawa slightly before 1pm and would not make it for the 1pm shuttle, I booked 1 hour later. No worries about spending time at the station, as they are stalls and shop to look around.
At 2 p.m., the shuttle bus was there, and they took our names and helped with our luggage. Although it was early in the winter season, there were quite a few number of visitors on the same bus.
The bus ride is about 40 minutes. Once at the hotel, we checked in and got our keys for our room in Building 2. As the ski lift closes at 5pm, we did not plan to ski until the next day.
TIPS: This would be the best time to book 1 Day Ski passes online in advance (can not same day) as you save 1,000 yen per ticket. QR Code is available on the pamphlet given by reception or at the ticket collect machine area at Buiding 3.
We booked a room for 4 people, 2 on bed and 2 on the sofa bed. The space was sufficient for us, albeit have to take turns to open luggage. Resort guest also are given 1 locker per room to store your ski gears. So it was easy for us to come in the morning to retrieve our gear and head out to the snow.
As this is an old resort, do not expect modern furnishing, but it has what a hotel should have and we'll maintain in terms of cleanliness.
It was still early in the season (we stayed 17-20 Dec), so restaurant selection is quite limited as most are only opening after 20th Dec. On the first day, one will need to spend some time at the ski rental store as everyone queue for their gear.
GGuest UserI sincerely recommend this accommodation owner to speak Chinese, the attitude is very kind, no matter what the boss is helping, the boss is sincerely assisting, it is a warmth from the heart, I highly recommend the hotel accommodation facilities and Although the equipment for bathing is relatively general, it can be felt that the boss's management intentions The overall accommodation quality is very extra and there is a simple sense of happiness!
