Castelli Hotel All Inclusive

We had a wonderful stay there. All the staff were welcoming and provide best service

We so enjoyed to finally be back here after a 3 yr absence. It really is like a home from home. Location - sleepy little Aghios Sostis, about a mile outside Laganas. Near enough to walk to if you really want to go there and far enough away to not be disturbed. 15-20 minute transfer from the airport. Check In - so easy. We were so chuffed to get the warm welcome from Mr Spiros and the Castelli staff. Tourist tax to pay but no other hidden extras like towels, safe hire, wifi etc that you get in other places. Rooms - our room was a swim up pool room on the pool side. G2. We had asked for this or G4 and the staff were happy to help. Room was clean and well equipped. Coffee machine, kettle, fridge, tv, aircon etc and 2 bottles of water in the fridge. The bathroom is a wet room and is quite small and everything else gets wet but you have to compromise on space because there is a step up to the terrace to where you access the pool via roman steps. Housekeeping came every day and most days twice. Plenty of towel swaps. We had an issue where the fridge packed up but once reception were aware of it, the fridge was replaced within the hour. There are also USB charging points next to the bed either side so you can charge your devices up without the need for the continental plug adapter. Plenty of other plug sockets in the room too. Beds are comfy. Wardrobe size ok. TV on the wall but it was not switched on once. No interest at all in watching TV when we are on holiday. Food - AI. Plenty of choice. Breakfast - the Greek yoghurt ( soooo good and there is nothing at all as good as that at home) with fruits and honey and make your own museli from the selections was my personal favourite every day but there was the hot options, bacon, mushrooms, beans, tomato, sausages, hashbrowns and a selection of breads, salads, pastries, continental style and also pancakes. There is an egg station which also does the pancakes but the object is defeated by the lass cooking up about 20 eggs at a time and then chucking them under the lamp in a tray..where they become less than pleasant and tended to get wasted. It would be more cost effective to actually cook the eggs there and then as people asked for them. Only did lunch on the last day but pasta, salads, bread, chips, hams, cheeses, fruits, chicken legs..even the fussiest eater should be able to find something. Evening meal was again a good selection with the odd theme night. Tasty and fresh. The restaurant can get very busy but it is run with military precision by Ionna the General and the staff are busy replacing/cleaning. The hotel has a mix of guests from a number of European nations so there is a variety of food to please most taste buds. Staff - Led by Mr Spiros, the staff are such a great asset to the hotel. They make your stay so pleasant by welcoming you into the Castelli family. They work long hours and they work very hard to make your stay all you want it to be. They are helpful and I am so grat

Sadly not a 4 star experience. Staff were lovely and welcoming (new uniforms needed, as existing ones look tatty). Nice pool, garden nice. Food, hit and miss, hot food was either warm or cold, overcooked, basic, cheap cuts, nice salad, desserts the same everyday, cheese board just one type of cracker and butter was margarine. Not enough Greek options, Vegetables not fresh and were either a frozen or out of a tin brand. Breakfast cold and mushrooms out of a tin, bacon cold. Drinks were awful, warm wine, soft drinks flat and syrup based. The Diet Coke was flat and not sure what brand but was undrinkable. Drinks served in dirty looking, stained plastic glasses. Day time snacks were a choice of the same 4 pasties and no savoury options. Towels rough, old, discoloured, past their best. Umbrellas tatty and past their best. Rooms small, dark, wet room tiny and slippery, lack of storage. Swim up pool had a rim of orange oily residue around it. Decor poorly finished. TV no English channels, you get 4 coffee pods and after that they are 1 euro each, 2 small bottles of water on the fridge. Cardboard hangers that were too long to fit in the waldrobe. Hotel App doesn’t work, floors stained and metal strips on stair had raised screws, patio floor dirty, bean bag had a hole in and cushions and seating on outdoor sofa snd double sun bed dirty and not fresh smelling (probably from the amount of people that lay on them getting sweaty). Location close to Laganas that is a pit, some abandoned buildings, lots of litter, no paths to walk on to beach so walk is dangerously due to the amount of fast traffic. Walk to beach you go through olive grove that is full of litter and we saw rats. The beach itself was lovely with a great beach bar, walk is down lots of steps so lots of steps back up to. We paid £3k for an adult only, all inclusive, swim up room and feel that we did not get what was advertised. Groups of young people at the hotel, students out for a good time, took over the pool area, loud in the early hours, definitely not a couples haven. We came home disappointed and won’t go back. This hotel needs to up its game in terms of presentation, food, drinks and furnishings. It needs updating and a face lift. The biggest asset is the staff, you wouldn’t fault them but they are let down by the offer.

The cleaners were amazing!! All the staff in the hotel were so lovely and welcoming to us. The food was great and the variety of activities kept us entertained our whole stay. Thank you so much to everyone who made it such a great holiday

Incredible hotel and wonderful staff! So friendly and helpful. The food was great and definitely recommend the all inclusive for all the drinks too!
