I stayed at the Weinhotel St. Stephanus for two nights in October 2024 with my parents and three sisters. We had three double rooms in the main building or Herrenhaus (manor house) as they call it, two regular rooms and one deluxe room for our parents. The Herrenhaus is very stately and pretty, built in 1850, and so were the high-ceilinged rooms, which are decorated in style and equipped with a safe, SAT-TV, free Wi-Fi, and a hair-dryer. No coffee/tea station and A/C, though. Our parents’ room and the room one of my sisters and I shared had a very nice view of the river, whereas our other two sisters only had a side view, which didn’t reflect on the price of the room. We were greeted by the owner upon our arrival, who was friendly enough but lacking in professionalism, in my opinion. All six of us were supposed to have bathrobes in our rooms, but my sister and I didn’t. I went back to reception to get them, and the owner handed them to me with a smile but without an apology. Similarly, I had booked massages for us women beforehand. When I asked where the spa was located, the owner told me that the contract with the masseur had been cancelled the previous week, the spa was closed, a mobile masseur would knock on our door at the appointed time and the massage would take place in our room. This never happened. We waited for half an hour and then went to the pool and sauna area, telling the owner in passing that the masseur hadn’t shown up and needn’t bother now. Again, not a word of apology. He only said he’d phone the masseur and pass on the message. The door to the office behind the reception was constantly open and staff members could often be seen eating in there, which was slightly odd. Why not close the door? We were also told by the owner to wait at the door to the restaurant in the evening. Thus, we came to the door at our preset dinner time and waited there for several minutes, watched by the owner, who had a good view of us from reception. We weren’t the only ones, either, there was another couple waiting. We finally concluded that we couldn’t really be seen by the restaurant staff, as the door opened onto an unstaffed bar area that was separated from the rest of the restaurant by a wall, so we decided to walk in and find someone to show us to our table. They couldn’t see us, fair enough. However, they should have been expecting us, because as I said, one had to book dinner at a certain time. Moreover, the owner’s behaviour in this situation was odd, to say the least. Overall, I wasn’t too impressed with the staff, though housekeeping did a god job cleaning our rooms. We had booked half-board. The food was good, though choices at breakfast were somewhat limited. Dinner consisted of a three-course meal on the first evening with a meat, fish, and vegetarian main course to choose from, and a four-course meal on the second evening. The food was well-prepared and of good quality, though I wouldn’t call it outstanding. The restaurant has a very

My husband and I stayed a night at this hotel and we had a nice stay. 4/5 because the rooms were clean, but they were dated, especially the bathrooms. The room was huge tho and very traveler friendly. We had a ground floor room overlooking the river and the views were nice, but the room didn't have AC and I was afraid to leave the patio door cracked at night because we were on the ground floor and animals/bugs/ people. The staff was great. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and both were good. The location was great. There is a 'parking garage' under the hotel, but it was so small that we couldn't park there. Luckily there is a huge outdoor parking lot right across the street for $6.

We booked the suite and were really fond of the room; our daughter had her own bathroom and ours contained a walk-in shower and what looked like a fantastic bathtub (since it was 30 degrees outside we didn’ t use it). The separate living room was very neat, cosy and practical. The pool had exactly the right temperature and was quite large; sauna’s were very cozy and very clean. Breakfast was wonderful with great choice and dinner at Braukeller was ok. We asked for a table at the Saxler s restaurant the second evening and that was really a nice experience. Although a bit overpriced in comparison to our Belgium gastronomy (we ordered different dishes from the menu) it was one of the best meals we ever had in the Moselle region, all fresh and tasty dishes with the right seasoning and perfectly cooked. Our only suggestion would be some sort of fan or airco in the rooms but this is rather unusual in Moselle I think. To end my review: we will be booking this hotel again when we will visit the region as we really loved every aspect about it.

Repeated weekend visit with wife and friends at St. Stephanus. We received a friendly welcome. The rooms were neat and clean. When the weather was nice, we had our dinner a la carte on both days on the terrace of the restaurant. The staff in the restaurant was also very friendly and competent. A big compliment to the kitchen. All dishes were very good to excellent. It doesn't matter whether it's braised veal cheeks, redfish fillet, Angus saddle of beef or Wiener schnitzel. On the second evening I ate a half-board menu, because after reading I was hungry for the veal patties. If all the menus are so good, I can even recommend half-board. All in all a very successful short break.

The service was friendly to me from day one. I was also greeted warmly 10 minutes before opening. Today I will test the food, what I could see looked good. I was not a hotel guest but what is not can still be.

Unpack your suitcase and feel good. We had booked at short notice and got an excellent room. Room 212. Completely renovated. Large room, self contained changing area and separate toilet, wash and shower area. Balcony with Moselle view. The house has plenty of free parking spaces (underground or in front of the house). The house has an elevator. Furthermore, it has an indoor swimming pool with sauna to offer. There is also a spa area (for a fee)
