Eva Serviced Apartments

I booked what seemed to be the nicest studio in the Eva building which seems to be the renovated one, unit 315, supposedly top floor with the shape of the ceiling. The unit was nicely done and decorated, you could tell it was "recently" renovated. The location of the building is decent for those who enjoy skiing on the glacier and gonergrat side, it's walkable to the lifts. Unfortunately, having a nice decoration is not sufficient to provide housing of quality, and is a fact that many "hospitality" business owners in Zermatt need to be made aware of. The property had the amenity "soundproofing" on the booking website, unfortunately there is none whatsoever. I booked my entire week months in advance to get the top floor studio during a week when there are no school holidays, upon my arrival in the studio in the evening, I thought I landed in a nursery home run by crazies, all I could hear were a bunch of kids screaming as loud as possible, running around and kicking things against the floor and the walls, as well as parents running after them. The level of the noise was unbearable, and was equal to being in the same room as them in the apartment next door. I left the apartment, the booking was non refundable and I did not want to ruin another minute of my life even asking for it. Do not stay here if you want to enjoy peace and quiet. Note to the owners: when you run a place with no soundproofing and walls thin like paper, you do your customers a favour by not allowing kids.
