A must-see when in Chongqing, Hongyadong is an 11-storey, 75 meters stilt house constructed on a steep cliff. You can take an elevator to each level where various bars, café and restaurants are arranged, or you can embrace a workout and go up by stairs (been there, done that!) 😅🥵 The symbolic Hongya Dripping on the 2nd floor is a small waterfall cascading down the cliff and makes for great pictures! On the other side of Hongyadong, you’ll be approached by numerous photographers that can take a nice shot in front of this picturesque scene. I paid ¥30rmb for my picture and they sent it to my WeChat after editing the lighting. 📸 What you’ll find around there: Floor 2️⃣ - Zhiyanhe Bar Street is crowded with numerous well-known bars including the most spiritual one in Chongqing - Feiyu Music Bar, which is close to Hongya Dripping. The street has a traditional appearance but is filled with modern elements. Floor 4️⃣ - Tianchengxiang Bayu Culture Street presents traditional local dwellings with red eaves and grey tiles. It is filled with restaurants selling traditional Chongqing food like Chongqing Hotpot, Pork Dumplings, Walnut Cookies, Hot and Sour Rice Noodles. Floors 9️⃣/1️⃣0️⃣ - Foreign dishes, such as pasta, Japanese dishes, and Korean snacks, can be tasted in Banquet Food Street. NenluTea dessert is located there and has been praised by Lonely Planet Magazine! The bed is large, the bathroom is clean, the shower is comfortable, the room service staff are enthusiastic and greet guests proactively, parking is convenient with a large parking lot, and it's easy to do laundry with convenient dryers. Known as the “Mountain City” for its rugged terrain, Chongqing is unlike any other place I’ve traveled to. From its stunning natural beauty to its rich history and spicy cuisine, the city offers a whirlwind of experiences. The Landscape: A City Built Among Hills and Rivers Chongqing’s landscape is breathtaking. The city is cradled by the Yangtze and Jialing rivers, and its hilly terrain means steep streets, countless bridges, and even elevators between levels of the city. As I explored, I found the vertical cityscape fascinating. It’s not uncommon to see skyscrapers built on inclines, creating a dynamic view wherever you look. Historic Sites and Modern Marvels One of my first stops was Ciqikou Ancient Town, a well-preserved street filled with old-style buildings, traditional teahouses, and small shops selling local crafts. Walking through the narrow streets made me feel like I had stepped back in time. On the flip side, visiting the futuristic skyline at Hongyadong, especially when lit up at night, provided a stunning contrast between the old and new Chongqing. The Hotpot Experience No trip to Chongqing would be complete without trying its famous hotpot. Known for its fiery heat, Chongqing hotpot is a communal meal where diners dip a variety of ingredients—meat, vegetables, tofu—into a boiling pot of broth, filled with chili peppers and Sichuan peppercorns. RING mall, Forest in the city
Ring mall in the Yubei district of Chongqing is easily accessed by metro line 5 重光 station exit 1. It is actually huge mall with a tranquil feel because of the little forest with little water fall installed there. it give the visitors the chance to calm and relax by walk around the rainforest vegetation. Outside of the mall, there are lots of cherry blossom tree that create beautiful landscape. There are also many eateries to fill the hungry tummy after walk around. Mini Yeah supermarket!! not a supermarket at all, instead a beautifully decorated restaurant 🥥🥘🍤Inside the enormous Raffles city Mall 📍Line 6, metro station, Xiaoshizi. food was very tasty, 🍤the seafood soup was definitely a highlight, enough for 2 people, we had the chicken, prawn and beef curry🥥🥘 all super creamy and delicious.
