High tea session at Pan Pacific

High tea session at Pan Pacific

Visited panpacificsingapore for their new Japanese inspired afternoon tea during the weekend. Service was seriously lacking. I sat down at 1515hrs and my first item (my tea) only arrived after almost an hour. Coffee only arrived at around 1700 hrs. Almost 2 hrs after I arrived. DH got really grumpy as he needed his afternoon dose of caffeine badly. I understand that they are lacking staffs but the wait is horribly. They apologised a few times but, that was it. Putting the terrible service aside, food wise its still above average. All the items are inspired by the Japanese theme and I like it. The sweet treats are my favourite and I wouldn't mind having another serving of those. The sweet treats didn't give me any "heavy" feel after finishing all of them. I like it that they are using the Bacha coffee too. Bacha coffee has a very very pleasant smell and it's an excellent choice of coffee for high tea. Overall a little upset with the service but I wouldn't mind coming back again soon when their manpower is adequate. Until then, its time to find another afternoon tea place #moreinsg

Heavenly Wang at T4

Heavenly Wang at T4

#wheretogo There are a few dining options at Changi Airport Terminal 4 however we chose heavenly wang cause I wanted milk tea (Teh C ice) and a filling meal that’s not food court. We felt that this was the best option since our flight was 11am and we land at 1pm and can’t grab any bite since we had book airport transfer in Da Nang. We ordered a chicken set that’s not spicy, and a toast bread set with half boil eggs with our drinks. Which was just right for the both us to not get too overwhelmed by food from the flight.

Old School Bak Kut Teh at Four Points Eatery

Four Points Eatery is one of the restaurants housed inside Four Points by Sheraton Singapore, Riverview. It serves a good variety of South East Asian and international cuisine, as well as hosts an international buffet over the weekends. I was attracted by their Old School Bak Kut Teh (S$26++) after reading good reviews of it - I heard they usually run out by early evening! It surely did not disappoint, as the peppery soup was rich and packed with just the right amount of spice that keeps you wanting more. The pork ribs were really tender and easily tore off the bone, and I appreciated that they were cut into smaller pieces for ease of consumption 😋 The yam rice was decently flavoured, and the youtiao (dough fritters) was nicely crisp! I wish I had more of it to soak in the soup 😛 I ordered their Signature Baby Rock Lobster Laksa (S$28++) to my room for dinner and I thoroughly enjoyed it too. The broth was rich and creamy, with a nice balance of sweet and spicy. The lobsters were quite meaty 🦞 and there was a good amount of fish cakes and beancurd puffs, as well as half a hard-boiled egg 🥚 They were definitely generous with the rice vermicelli and I was left stuffed and satisfied! 😊 📍 Four Points Eatery 382 Havelock Road Robertson Quay, 169629 #musteat #food #singapore

Imperial Soup (Velocity @ Novena Square)

#moreinsg - Chinese Herbal Soup Anyone ? Address - Velocity @ Novena Square, 238 Thomson Rd, #03-47 (within Cookhouse by Koufu) Singapore, 307683 Operating Hours - 11:00AM - 08:50PM Monday - Sunday (Daily) Ambiance/Facilities - Cosy foodcourt, airconditioned seating Highlights - Chinese Herbal Soups, Pig Trotters and more Avg. Price per Person - From $8.00 up Rating - 3.8 / 5 Novena Square Feature Series - 18 This new Imperial Soup stall is located at the right side of Cookhouse by Koufu @ level 3 of Velocity side, just near True Fitness and FIght Zone. Herbal soups have gained popularity over the recent years with more people looking for healthy and nutritious food, and you see more such stalls opening up at food courts and hawker centres. After hearing all the hype from fellow gym members about this stall, I decided to check them out and ordered : - Signature Fish Maw with Pig Stomach Chicken Soup @ $8.80 Their signature dish. The soup was hot and the pork stomach was slow cooked until soft and tender. The sliced fish maw was chewy enough. The wolfberry also added a nice touch to the soup. Add light soya sauce if you need more flavour. Unfortunately too much overcooked chicken (they are part of the slow cooked soup), would have been more worth wide if there's more fish maw and stomach. - HK Signature Pork Trotters with Ginger and Vinegar @ $8.00 What my mom ate. The sauce was a bit too rich and sweet though and there were two braised eggs. Wished there were more trotters than lean meat parts given. Overall, so so bah. Remember there's cut chilli padi and dark soya sauce as condiments if you require. Rice will be at an additional 50cts per bowl. Give them a try if you are into herbal soups. Expect a queue during peak hours. Note : The foodcourt also has stalls offering economy rice, dim sum, mala hotpot, Thai food as well as Western meals too. Sunset & Yatch @ Tuas Lighthouse

#mysgmemories One of the places in Singapore which holds fond memories for me is the Tuas Lighthouse. Located at the west, it is a relatively quiet place suitable for strolls especially near sunset time. You can also see yatch and the johor area from here as well. Good to chill and also relax especially during sunset hours for both day and night views. Address Raffles Marina Tuas Lighthouse 10 Tuas West Dr, 638404

Towering over the surrounding landscape, this iconic structure is a true masterpiece of modern architecture, and an engineering marvel that is not to be missed. One of the most striking things about the Transformer is its sheer size and scale. Delicious and Affordable Xiang Xiang Fried Chicken

#wecreate I like their Happiness Plate (SGD7.50) consisting of 3 pieces of crispy fried chicken (one chicken breast, one chicken wing and a drumstick) served with coleslaw, French fries and a bun. Super value for money. The fried chicken is crispy and golden crust, nicely seasoned and not too salty. The meat inside is moist, tender and juicy. Very well cooked. Other than that, they also have Chicken Chop, Chicken Cutlet, Fish & Chips, Lamb Chop, Steak, Spring Chicken, Chicken Wing Rice, Burger and more. The lady owner is very friendly and welcoming. Old School Tau Sar Piah Bakery

Old School Tau Sar Piah Bakery

Loong Fatt has a long history selling traditional tau Sar piah, pastries and cakes. The shop front still maintain its original outlook, giving it a very nostalgic old school vibe. At $1.20 per piece, these tau Sar piah is cheap but quality of it is maintained along the years. The tau Sar piah is buttery, has a flaky crust and is filled with sweet or salty mung bean filling. There are old school baked goods sold too, such as your banana cake, buttercream Swiss roll, butter cake, etc. There are seats inside the bakery if you would like to enjoy the tau Sar piah and other pastries on the spot. Grab a box of baked goods from Loong Fatt because such traditional bakeries are getting fewer and fewer. Support local! #singapore

Top of JW Marriot Office Building

#mysgmemories
I had the opportunity to visit the top floor of JW Marriot at South Beach Road.

It was the first time I am above the ground level of the hotel and I was very impressed by the view. We could see the entire Marina Bay Area and all the hotels!

It reminds me of the days where we were stuck in Singapore and was hotel hopping.

On the other side, we could see the ocean and national stadium area of Singapore.

Don’t you wish you were staying or working in JW Marriott? The building is also conveniently located above Esplanade station. And next to the JW Marriot hotel.
