Overwhelmed!!! The starry sky.

This is Lake Tekapo in New Zealand!!! When you think of Lake Tekapo, the starry sky and the Church of the Good Shepherd come to mind! The starry sky at Lake Tekapo is so beautiful that even BTS members visited and were moved, saying they were glad to be alive. The actual starry sky at Lake Tekapo is truly stunning, with so many stars that they can't be captured by a camera. Since New Zealand is in the Southern Hemisphere, there are stars that can't be seen in the Northern Hemisphere! Lake Tekapo itself is a beautiful blue, and you can get a panoramic view from the Mount John Observatory, which I highly recommend. There is also the Astro Café near the Mount John Observatory, which is very cute and highly recommended!

It's located outside the Four Square Tekapo supermarket, near the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd, offering a scenic backdrop of the lake and mountains. The playground features modern play structures, including slides, swings, climbing frames, and even a mini zipline. Both kids and adults enjoyed the zipline immensely! Known for its striking blue waters and stunning alpine backdrop, it’s a place where tranquility reigns, and the landscape feels like something out of a dream. The journey to Lake Tekapo was an adventure in itself. After a scenic drive through the rolling hills and rugged terrain of the Mackenzie Basin, I arrived at the lake. The journey was well worth it, as I was immediately captivated by the lake’s vibrant turquoise hue. The color comes from the fine particles of glacial rock flour suspended in the water, which give the lake its unique and surreal appearance. During my visit, I was lucky enough to experience the bloom of lavender, which added a burst of purple to the already picturesque scene. The fields surrounding the lake were covered in fragrant lavender, creating a stunning contrast against the blue waters and the snow-capped peaks of the Southern Alps in the distance. It was the perfect time to capture the beauty of this place, and I spent hours wandering through the fields, taking in the views and the soothing aroma. Day 1: Arrival at #hakahouse Lake Tekapo After a scenic ride on the Intercity bus from Mt. Cook, I arrived at #laketekapo, a stunning turquoise lake surrounded by the Southern Alps. I checked into #hakahouse hostel, a cozy and modern hostel with a great communal atmosphere. The hostel’s location was perfect, just a short walk from the lake. I spent the evening relaxing and enjoying the view of the lake from the shore, with the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd in the foreground. Day 2: Lake Tekapo Peninsula Walkway The next morning, I set out on the #Lake Tekapo Peninsula Walkway, a peaceful trail that offered breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The walk took me through golden tussock grasslands and along the peninsula’s edge, where I could see the vibrant blue waters from different angles. The trail was quiet and serene, and I stopped often to take photos and soak in the beauty. The highlight was reaching the viewpoint at the end of the peninsula, where I had a panoramic view of the lake and the distant snow-capped peaks.
