Cool Hangout Spot of Common Ground

#fallingseason Comprised solely of blue freight containers near Konkuk University in eastern Seoul, Common Ground has been a hot destination over the last few years with its atypical structure and loads of options from clothes shops and cafés to pop-up stores and more. The sharp blue color of the containers against the blue sky make for a nice blend of scenery, but once night hits, the beautiful lighting of the area under the night sky create a cozy ambiance you'll want to go and see for yourself. This is not ice cream but coffee -Oats cafe

This cafe as i recommended before is famous for is Einspänner which looks like ice cream is actually coffee top with a smooth cream combination. I have the chance to visit another outlet of Oats here in Yeonamdong. Must say is quite a walk from Hongdae- Better to take the bus from Hondae to save the long walk 😂😅 They have a greater selections of pastry here or perhaps it looks more appealing with more items available. The coffee station space is spacious likewise the whole cafe which occupies 2 stories above. 2nd & 3rd Floor has many tables available . There are also rooftop seatings that are outdoor! Mistake that many first timer make when drinking einspanner ** Do not stir it at first**; simply drink it straight w the cream. Since Oats Coffee's cream isn't particularly thick, it blends in nicely with the coffee. I love the flavor. It is sooo sooo good! A must have everytime I am back in Seoul! #seoulfun #seoulcafe #hongdaecafe #yeonnamdong

A Trip To The Land of Morning Calm

A Trip To The Land of Morning Calm

#2024wish The year 2023 is a very meaningful year for me because this year, for the very first time, I have dared myself to travel abroad solo, a dream that I have kept for a very long time. Some of the memories that will forever be etched in my heart are the opportunity to visit South Korea and see the unique culture and history of the country, not forgetting the experience of wearing traditional Hanbok while walking around the grounds of Gyeongbokgung Palace! I remember all the Korean historical movies and dramas I have watched, and this is definitely a dream comes true! Always attracted to nature and scenery landscapes, Nami Island and The Garden of Morning Calm stood out to be the delightful moments of my trip to South Korea. Nami Island is such a small vibrant island, strolling along its small gravel trails giving out lovely vibes as potrayed in the Korean drama 'Winter Sonata' while the Garden of Morning Calm cheerfully boasting its Millennium Juniper tree, which is estimated to be around 1000 years old, symbolizing strength, wisdom, usefulness and beauty - reminding me that despite difficulties faced in life, there's always hope and that somehow we would survive it. I also had the experience of going through the underground tunnel in the DMZ Area that borders South Korea and North Korea, the same experience that reminded me of the unique experience of going through the Chu Chi underground tunnel while traveling to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam a month earlier. Both countries have had its shares of being affected by wars, and it made my trip to South Korea more meaningful as I could understand how it has shaped its people, their resilience and determination to rise up after such harrowing events. All these experiences made me even more determined to see more of this world, as much as possible, as long as I can and while there is still time. In 2024, my travel target is to feel some snow at the tip of my fingers (sounds like a child's dream I know, but that's what it is 🤭); I want to sip a hot drink while looking in awe at the wonders of nature such as the volcanoe craters landscape and to experience more culture of people around the world. Hence, I don't have a specific country yet, but I believe time will tell, some doors will definitely open and I will fly to those destinations with an open heart, ready to find more wonders! 🕊️

When all the cakes are black and white- cafe Nudake

This super cool cafe is in the chic Seongsudong district and is a short 10 minute walk from the Seongsu station. The one story building facade is beige in color with a giant red square facing the main road. It is a popular spot for taking photos so it can’t be missed. Once we walked inside the cafe, we noticed the very dim lighting that played a big contrast to the daylight outside. The large table in the middle of the cafe displayed at least 20 kinds of uniquely designed pastries, and almost 95 % of the pastries, including croissants, were black or white in color! Even my coffee was added with sesame flavored ice cubes! Cafe Nudake 26 Seongsui-ro 7-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul Hours 11-9pm daily #seoul #cafeinseoul #southkorean #cityexplorer

Looking out from the stage, the view is endless, with the Songhyan Green Square open to the public

Looking out from the stage, the view is endless, with the Songhyan Green Square open to the public

At the end of autumn and the beginning of winter, the cold deepens, the vegetation turns yellow, and as you walk down the street, you will be pleasantly surprised to see a corner of flowers and green leaves. You will definitely want to explore this green fairyland. Unexpectedly, there are even more surprises. This is the open Songhyan Green Square in Seoul. When you come out of the east gate of Gyeongbokgung Palace and head south along Samcheong Road, past the Kumho Museum of Art, you will see a corner of Tamagawa with colorful grass, shiny silver balls, and undulating hills. Walking past, there are more hills rising, stepping on the withered grass, but seeing a pool of clear water surrounded by sand and stones. Beyond the hills, there is a high platform. Looking out from the platform, the Gyeongbokgung Palace is in full view to the northwest, the variously designed buildings to the southwest are like works of art, the Central Museum of Buddhism is to the south, and the Seoul Museum of Craft Art is to the east. Overlooking the park, the pool of water is like a jade eye. The Green Square is about the size of five football fields. In addition to the green plants and variously shaped balls, pavilions, and long tables, there are large screens and event spaces along the street for large-scale activities. In the bustling area of Seoul, where every inch of land is worth its weight in gold, it is amazing to have such an open leisure space for citizens. After visiting, express your feelings in words. Say: Travel notes of Songhyan Green Open Square The green square is blooming, with purple and red flowers, vast but lush. The path is hidden by the lush vegetation, the ground is covered with wild grass. The art design is just right. Unexpectedly, in the dense urban buildings, there is such a corner. The dazzling hanging basket is green in winter, the eye-catching golden chrysanthemum, the soft grass of the mountain peach. Looking up, there is chaos, and you don't know where to go. Silver canopy, golden ball, iron frame, wooden furniture. In a daze, climb up the high platform tens of meters high, and look far away at the deep autumn colors. Address: 48-9, Songhyeon-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, and the surrounding area (서울특별시 종로구 송현동 48-9, 일대) Admission: Free Transportation: 2 minutes walk from Exit 3 of Anguk Station on Subway Line 3; 10 minutes walk from Exit 2 of Gwanghwamun Station on Subway Line 5.
