Leshan Giant Buddah is massive, it's cool to see and the best view is definitely from the boat which you can get from the tourist centre. The boat will drop you off near to the start of the hiking trail to reach the Giant Buddah by foot. Once you've seen the Buddah I'd highly recommend entering the Oriental Buddah Park. It's quiet as it requires some uphill walking and the caves are vast with equally big Buddah inside. On a hot day it's a great place to escape the heat and the crowds and the new carvings are very impressive. Getting There- Fast train to Leshan from Chengdu or Chongqing, then taxi. ( Make sure you get the taxi to the tourist centre and not the South gate, it was a requirement to have a Chinese ID at the South gate when we went.) Attractions- Giant Buddah & Oriental Buddah Park Food- Leshan food is awesome, sweet and a little spicy. for the best spots head to Jiaxing road for an array of choices. we chose 'No.289 Jiaxing road' where most the dishes were delicious and the sweet bread was my favourite. #nationalpark

Just got back from our day out enjoying the beautiful weather. There’s no excuse for staying indoors and miss out on the autumn sun. Taking a walk along the riverside of Leshan and soaking up the sun was truly rewarding. The warmth of the sun and the views were stunning. Leshan Giant Buddha + Oriental Buddha Capital
Leshan Giant Buddha's the biggest outdoor Buddha statue in the world and also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Getting there from Chengdu is extremely easy by the high speed train. I recommend you to both get the cruise and explore the monument on foot. It will cost you about 200 yuan total. Also many people go there for couple of hours to only see the monument of the but not that many people know that there's another cave temple close to the Buddha statue. It's called the Oriental Buddha Capital. Even though it's not that ancient and full of history i think it still deserves attention because of the statues inside #culturalattraction#themepark
