Motorikyu Nijo castle garden

Motorikyu Nijo castle garden

During my trip in Kyoto I visited the Motorikyu Nijo castle garden and enjoyed the views of the garden and had a nice long walk . The garden was huge and filled with so many flowers. As it was only May, there were rarely any pretty hydrangeas yet. If you love these flowers will suggest to go in June as they will bloom and the entire castle and the garden will be so much nicer. There are lots of pretty places in the garden to take pictures and you can gawk at the nice flowers. Also an entrance fee is required and you can top it up to enter the castle as well.

#japantrip 📍Kinkakuji Temple, Kyoto, Japan Visited this famous Gold Pavilion of Kyoto, Kinkakuji Temple, which is a Zen Buddhist temple located in Northern Kyoto. The temple was absolutely stunning and gleaming in gold! This beautiful and impressive architecture was built overlooking a large pond, and the reflection of the temple was simply mesmerising! The Japanese themed garden filled with lush greeneries was nicely built and maintained. The overall ambiance was relaxing and serene, lovely place to take a stroll and take a lot of touristy photos! The temple was really crowded during our visit, would suggest to come earlier to have more pictures with the golden temple! In essence, Kinkakuji Temple is a must visit destination while in Kyoto!

Kimono Experience at Kyoto, Japan 🇯🇵

Kimono Experience at Kyoto, Japan 🇯🇵

Visited Japan during December, arrived at Kyoto and headed for Kiyomizu-dera!!! Previously experienced Yukata and the usual Kimonos. Very excited to try on the Furisode-Kimono (Kimono with longer sleeves) this time!!! There are many kimono renting stores in the area, but through thorough research and comparing prices before the trip, we decided to make a reservation online at Okamoto Kiyomizu-dera Shop. We went around the area in our Kimono, took a lot of photos and tried out some authentic Matcha 🍵 and Hojicha desserts.

Kyoto: A Journey Through Japan’s Cultural Heart

Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan, is a city that beautifully blends history, tradition, and modern charm. During my visit, I explored some of the most iconic attractions, immersing myself in the rich cultural heritage that Kyoto has to offer. From historic temples to vibrant markets, every corner of this city felt like a journey through time. The Tranquility of Arashiyama Bamboo Forest Another unforgettable stop was the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. The towering green stalks created an almost otherworldly atmosphere as I strolled through the winding paths. The gentle rustling of the bamboo in the wind added to the tranquil experience. Near the forest, I also visited the famous Togetsukyo Bridge, offering picturesque views of the surrounding mountains and river. Discovering Kyoto’s Historic District: Gion A visit to Kyoto wouldn’t be complete without exploring Gion, the city’s famous geisha district. The beautifully preserved wooden buildings, traditional tea houses, and narrow alleyways transported me back in time. In the evening, I was fortunate enough to spot a few geiko and maiko (Kyoto’s geisha and apprentice geisha) walking gracefully to their engagements. #japan #japantrip #trip #kyoto #arashiyama #gionkyoto #fushimiinari #uji Exploring Fushimi Inari Taisha One of the most famous landmarks in Kyoto, Fushimi Inari Taisha is known for its thousands of vermillion torii gates that form a mesmerizing pathway up Mount Inari. Walking through these gates was a surreal experience, surrounded by lush greenery and the peaceful ambiance of the shrine. While the full hike to the top takes a couple of hours, even a short walk along the lower sections provides incredible photo opportunities and a deep sense of serenity. A Half-day Trip to Uji City Located just south of Kyoto, Uji is a charming city renowned for its high-quality green tea and stunning historical sites. The serene Uji River added to the city’s charm, offering beautiful walking paths and picturesque views. I also took the opportunity to enjoy a traditional matcha experience at one of Uji’s many tea houses, savoring the rich flavors of authentic Japanese green tea. Tips for an Enjoyable Kyoto Experience Visit popular sites early – Kyoto’s attractions can get crowded, so visiting early in the morning allows for a more peaceful experience. Wear comfortable shoes – Many sites require a fair amount of walking, so comfortable footwear is a must. Try local cuisine – Don’t miss out on Kyoto’s specialties such as matcha sweets, yudofu (tofu hot pot), and kaiseki (traditional multi-course meal). Respect local customs – Be mindful of shrine etiquette, such as bowing before entering and refraining from loud conversations. Use public transportation – Kyoto’s bus and train network is efficient and the best way to get around the city. Final Thoughts Kyoto is a city that captivates the heart with its timeless beauty and deep cultural roots. Whether it’s walking through ancient temples, enjoying the scenic landscapes, or immersing in traditional arts, my trip to Kyoto was an enriching and unforgettable experience. If you ever have the chance to visit Japan, Kyoto should be at the top of your list! #เที่ยวญี่ปุ่น
