Largest Bronze Buddha in the world !

Largest Bronze Buddha in the world !

Lingshan Giant Buddha or Lingshan Buddha, is one of the symbols of Wuxi City located at the northern bank of Taihu Lake. This holy land - Lingshan Grand Buddha Scenic Area gets its name because it is in “small Lingshan”, named by Xuanzang - a famous Chinese Buddhist monk in early Tang Dynasty (A.D. 618-907). Built in 1997, the bronze Shakyamuni Buddha at Lingshan stands majestically at 88 meters tall, among which the body of the Buddha is 79 meters and the lotus flower pedestal is 9 meters. Embraced by three hills and facing Taihu Lake, this great Buddha is friendly smiling, observing all livings and protecting his people.

Every Monday Mountain Public|Wushi Ancient Road

Every Monday Mountain Public|Wushi Ancient Road

|Wushi Ancient Road. This weekend we set foot on the Wushi Ancient Road in Wuxi, a unique hiking trip that circles the bamboo sea. Departing from Shanghai, a two and a half hour drive, we set our sights on Longxi Mountain Villa in Yixing. Download the route in advance on the two-step road, the whole hike is 13 kilometers long, with picturesque scenery along the way. This trip made me deeply realize what the real bamboo sea is. Surrounded by the bamboo sea, walking among the boulders, feeling the unique charm of nature. The route includes different sizes of loops, suitable for selection according to personal physical strength. The whole journey is quite physically demanding, especially the continuous climbing sections, which require enough endurance. On the mountain, there is almost no signal, the beautiful scenery along the way needs to be experienced in person, until finally returning to the starting point. Wushi Wave, overlooking the bamboo sea and Yangxian Lake, crossing through the beauty of nature. The end point is a grand temple, built against the mountain, giving a solemn feeling, even though it was still under construction when we went. At the foot of the mountain, there are a variety of fresh fruits, quite tempting. This hiking trip made us re-experience the beauty of nature with trees, mountains, earth, and time.

Must-visit in December! 2-day 1-night Wuxi travel guide!

🌄 The beauty of Jiangnan is not in the crowded places, but in the quiet small towns, with ink-like Jiangnan scenery. This season, if you want to choose a small town in Jiangnan with cold ink, why not come to Wuxi! 🌈 Day 1: Yuantouzhu Scenic Area - Route: Chongshan Gate - Shanhui Chuanmei Archway - Take a boat at the pier to see the red-billed gulls - Taihu Fairy Island - From winter to March every year, Yuantouzhu is mainly for watching red-billed gulls. Arriving in the afternoon, you can enjoy the sunset of Taihu Lake and red-billed gulls at the same time. Check the weather before departure, and be sure to come on a sunny day! Buy tickets in advance and bring your ID card. Nanchang Street & Qingming Bridge Ancient Canal Night View - Stroll along Nanchang Street and feel the atmosphere of Jiangnan. There are fewer people at night, which is more suitable for a leisurely stroll. 🌈 Day 2: Nanchan Temple & Huishan Ancient Town - Nanchan Temple: It has a long history. Although the place is not big, it is one of the "480 temples in the Southern Dynasties". - Huishan Ancient Town: Walk and stop, feel the tranquility and simplicity of the ancient town. - Jichang Garden: One of the four famous gardens in Jiangnan, simple and natural, without the craftsmanship of gardens. - Xihui Park: In autumn and winter, there are azalea gardens and red maples to enjoy. You can take a cable car to the top of the mountain to overlook the beautiful scenery of Wuxi. - Nianhua Bay: An ancient town with Zen-style buildings, it is very beautiful when the lights are on at night. - Lingshan Scenic Area/Lingshan Giant Buddha: A must-see for those who love Buddhist culture, it integrates lake and mountain scenery, Buddhist culture, and historical knowledge. 🍱 Food recommendations: Ruyi Restaurant: Want to experience authentic Wuxi flavors? This is the place to be! The coriander mixed with kidney slices and assorted gluten will definitely leave you wanting more. 🌶️ Maigansheng Old Street Youzanzi: The king of queues is not called for nothing! You can choose from a variety of flavors such as salt and pepper/sesame/original/seaweed/rock sugar, freshly made and fried, with excellent taste! 🌭 Hexingji: The combination of wontons and xiaolongbao is simply the perfect match for a meal. Remember to take a bite of the xiaolongbao first to suck the soup before eating the meat! Delicious! 🥢

Grand Buddha at Lingshan in Wuxi, China 🇨🇳

Here’s a guide to Lingshan Grand Buddha with some tips from my visit: 🗺️ Location: Lingshan Grand Buddha is located in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China. It’s an impressive statue standing 88 meters tall, surrounded by scenic gardens and temples. 🏛️ Highlights: The statue is an awe-inspiring sight. The site features beautiful landscapes, including the Brahma Palace and the Lotus Garden. Don’t miss the chance to see the daily incense offerings and traditional performances. 📸 Photography Tips: For the best photos, capture the Buddha from different angles. Early morning light provides a softer glow, and the surrounding mist often adds a mystical quality. 👟 What to Wear: Wear comfortable shoes as there’s a lot of walking involved. Layers are a good idea since the weather can be unpredictable. 🍴 Food Options: There are restaurants and tea houses on-site. Try some local snacks or traditional Chinese dishes for a full experience. 🚗 Getting There: It’s accessible by bus or taxi from Wuxi city center.
