Wat Lai Hin Luang

Wat Lai Hin Luang, Lampang Province 🙏Or known as Wat Selarattanapabpharam, is an ancient temple that is hundreds of years old. It has authentic Lanna architecture, which is the work of craftsmen from Chiang Tung. The entire building is decorated with beautiful patterns, especially the pediment and the door arches, which are made of brick and mortar decorated with animal figures in authentic Lanna art. Inside the temple, there is also a pagoda containing the relics of the Lord Buddha. 🌿According to legend, the Prince of Chiang Tung gave a coconut shell to Phra Maha Kesara Panyo, the second abbot of Wat Lai Hin Luang. This coconut shell is considered a symbol of sacredness and the relationship between the temple and the community. Later, the coconut shell that Phra Maha Kesara Panyo kept was put together with the coconut shell of the Prince of Chiang Tung and it was found that they were a perfect match.
