🌸 One of London’s Most Underrated Afternoon Tea Spots

If you’re looking for a truly magical afternoon tea in London, this seasonal experience at Roast Restaurant inside Borough Market’s Floral Hall deserves a spot on your list.

For a limited time, the restaurant has been transformed into a breathtaking floral garden, with cascading wisteria, colourful flowers and giant butterflies covering almost every corner. It honestly feels like stepping into a fairytale.

I tried their Butterfly in the Meadow Afternoon Tea, starting from £59 per person, and I was genuinely impressed not just by the decorations, but by the food too.

Our afternoon tea included:

🥪 Pulled pork brioche roll
🐟 Smoked salmon & cream cheese sandwich
🥩 Roast beef & horseradish sandwich
🥚 Roast signature Scotch egg
🥐 Signature sausage roll
🥩 Braised beef croquette
🌹 Roast rose signature dessert
🥥 Coconut & passionfruit cheesecake
🍯 London honey délice
🍓 Freshly baked scones served with jam & clotted cream

We also ordered one of their beautiful butterfly-inspired drinks, which matched the whole floral theme perfectly.

📍 Roast Restaurant
Floral Hall, Borough Market, London

🚇 Nearest station: London Bridge (2-minute walk)

💡 Travel Tip: Try to book a window table a few weeks in advance, especially on weekends. After afternoon tea, spend some time exploring Borough Market or take a walk along the Thames towards Tower Bridge, it’s one of my favourite routes in London.

Have you tried this seasonal afternoon tea yet? 🌸🦋

Just had an epic 5-day adventure in London, the land of red telephone boxes, iconic bridges, bold graffiti walls, legendary Big Ben, and the coolest hipster neighborhoods! 😎🕶️ This city throws out those classic vibes, but the street art and creative energy keep it super fresh.

Top Spots to Hit Up in London:
London Bridge – Classic pic with city views (London SE1 9DD, open 24/7).
Big Ben – A must-see (Westminster SW1A 0AA, view from outside anytime, the clock still chimes every hour!).
Red Telephone Boxes – Grab the ultimate London photo (dots across the city, best around Parliament Square or Covent Garden).
Street Art in Shoreditch – Hunt down famous graffiti spots (especially around Brick Lane, E1 6QL), your Instagram will thank you! Go early for fewer crowds and great light for pics.
“Th Place” – If you mean the Palace (maybe Buckingham?), watch the Changing of the Guard (Buckingham Palace, SW1A 1AA, around 11am, check for schedule!).

Pro Tips & Local Vibes:
Stay in a hipster area like Shoreditch or Hackney – tons of indie cafes, bars, and artsy markets. The energy here is next level!
Pack for unpredictable weather: London can flip between sunny and rainy so quickly. Layer up and bring a small umbrella.
Food: Don’t miss Brick Lane’s famous curries or classic English breakfast at a retro Shoreditch café.

Getting Around:
Oyster Card is your best friend – use it on buses, Tube, Overground, DLR, even some riverboats.
Walk as much as possible, especially along the Thames and in the markets – there’s so much street art and quirky corners to stumble on.

Exploring London feels like jumping between centuries—killer modern architecture meets legendary history, plus food from all over the world and weather that keeps you guessing 🌧️☕️. These top spots are must-adds to your itinerary—whether you're craving stunning river views, glimpses of Parliament in action, or ghostly thrills!

Must-See Places in London:
Westminster Bridge (SW1A 2JH, always open): Classic Thames views and easy photo ops! Go early for fewer crowds and epic misty river shots.
London Bridge (EC4R 3TN, always open): Not as iconic as Tower Bridge, but packed with local flavor and near Borough Market—a street food paradise!
River Thames: Walks along the Thames reveal modern marvels and secret historic corners. Rain or shine, you're part of London’s story.
St Margaret's Church (SW1P 3JX): Open most weekdays and Saturdays 11:00–15:30 (closed Sundays, check schedule). Peaceful, historic, under-the-radar—pair it with nearby Westminster sights.
Westminster Abbey (Dean's Yard, SW1P 3PA): Historic, awe-inspiring, and worth the fee (£29.40). Check opening days—closed Sundays. Arrive before noon for lighter crowds.
London City Hall: This cool, glassy spot amps up the ‘new meets old’ London vibe. Snap a selfie, then chill by the river!
Palace of Westminster: Parliament in action! Admire the Gothic towers—best viewed from Westminster Bridge for those iconic shots.
The London Bridge Experience & Tombs: Get spooky—history meets horror show under the city! Book ahead for the full thrill.

Travel Tips:
Transport: Grab an Oyster card, use the Tube for easy access to all these spots. Rainy? London buses offer great sightseeing above ground too.
Weather: Dress in layers—London loves surprise showers. Bring a compact umbrella (essential for riverside walks!).
Food: Try Borough Market for street eats; grab classic fish & chips at local pubs.
Money/Visas: Contactless payment is everywhere. Most nationalities need an eVisa—check before you fly!
