[Kofuku-ji Temple] The glory of the Fujiwara clan.

#gw2022jp "Kofuku-ji Temple" is located just a short walk from Todai-ji Temple. It is said that the origin of the temple is when Princess Kagami, wife of Fujiwara Kamatari, built the Shaka Triad statue, which Kamatari had made a wish for, as the principal image, in hopes of her husband's recovery from illness. It is the family temple of the Fujiwara clan. The curved roof of the five-story pagoda is distinctive. Nara has many historical World Heritage sites that can't be seen anywhere else. Still, it's amazing that a temple that has been in existence for over 1,000 years!
