Day out with heritage train ride, ploughmans lunch and real ale

Had a great day out for father's day with three generations here. The train was a 1980s Pacer and we had several rides back and forth along the track which is about a mile long. We had pre-booked a Ploughmans lunch to eat on the train, it was lovely and made for a great outing. The real ale bar on the platform, with resident station cat, was very special. We enjoyed the carriage which had been set up as a skittles alley too. A place where staff and volunteers are friendly, welcoming and passionate about railway heritage.
