Yachiho Komadeike Camping Area

The Yachiho Komadeike Campground has camping areas and cabins. The entire campsite is not small, and there is a pond. Everyone wants to set up tents around the lake. If you arrive too late, the campsite by the lake is already fully booked. In the end, we chose a great spot by the stream, which is close to the lake and close to the toilet. The bathroom area is coin-operated and costs 200 yen per shower (there are washing machines/dryers) and is not far away. It is also close to the parking lot, making it convenient to move equipment. When camping in Japan, setting up a tent is all about making a fire, so when we checked in to the camp headquarters, we bought some wood and prepared to make a fire after setting up the tent. The camp headquarters is right at the entrance, and you can check in to the camping area and the cabins first. When setting up the tent, there is a tent setting certificate clipped on the tent. The camp headquarters sells a lot of supplies and firewood. So it's very convenient. Moreover, the business hours of the camp headquarters are relatively long (9:00-19:00). Previously, the Togakushi camping area was only open until 17:00. So if you arrive too late, you won't be able to resupply. You will also be informed of the camp regulations, such as the time when garbage can be discarded. The door to the garbage room is only opened during certain periods of time. Then there is also a fireworks launching area in this camp, where the waste from the fireworks can be discarded. There happened to be a washing machine and a dryer in the campsite so I washed my travel clothes. I can only say that the dryer was too weak, or maybe it was because I had too many clothes. Although I dried them in several batches, it still took super super long to dry. However, it costs 100 yen per time and can be dried for 30 minutes. But it really can’t compare with the drying effect and speed outside! Therefore, if you are under time pressure, it is really much faster and more cost-effective to use coin-operated laundry machines and dry clothes outside.
