Shanghai Disneyland: Exclusive Zootopia Adventure!

🐼 Shanghai Disneyland 📍Shanghai, China A comprehensive guide to visiting Shanghai Disneyland with preschoolers! Here's a memo of what we covered in one day 📝 --- 🟠 Preparation Tips ① Save attractions and shows without height restrictions on the app. (You can log in with your phone number and bookmark your favorites♡) ② Take Metro Line 11 to its final stop, Disneyland Station. After getting off, buy snacks and drinks at the convenience store. ③ Rent a stroller right outside the metro station. A double stroller for the whole day costs just 60 yuan—very affordable! ④ Upon entering the park, immediately reserve Mickey's Storybook show via the app. Since we prioritized Zootopia, we booked the show for the afternoon. 🟠 Attractions and Shows ① Snow White Visit Snow White's Adventure inside the castle. This spot usually has short wait times and is highly recommended. It's like a mini art gallery you can walk through. However, the witch might be a bit scary for timid kids. Near the exit, there's a shop with adorable princess-themed souvenirs. If you're lucky, you might even get a photo with a princess. ② Zootopia Shanghai Disneyland is famous for its Zootopia area—the only one in the world! It's very popular, so visiting first thing in the morning is recommended. On Saturday, we waited 60 minutes to enter the Zootopia area and 120 minutes for the attraction. The area is filled with photo-worthy spots, like mini traffic lights. The attraction has no height restrictions, so preschoolers can enjoy it too. The ride is fast-paced and thrilling, making the wait worthwhile! Wait times tend to decrease in the evening as visitors start leaving. ③ Frozen Show A show featuring Anna and Elsa. Since it runs multiple times a day, it's relatively easy to get in. Although it's in Chinese, familiar Frozen songs make it enjoyable. ④ Resting at Tron Area We took a break at the food court in the Tron area. Located near the entrance, it was less crowded and had plenty of seating. The burgers were decent 🍔. ⑤ Mickey's Storybook We watched Mickey's Storybook show, which we had reserved earlier via the app. This show is popular because it features various characters like Mickey, Moana, Elsa, and more. ⑥ Parade We happened to catch a parade along the road. While Mickey and Minnie were absent, we saw other beloved characters. ⑦ Voyage to the Crystal Grotto This boat ride lets you meet princesses. It usually has shorter wait times and is highly recommended. There's no height restriction, it's not scary, and kids can meet princesses. The ride even takes you into the castle's underground—a unique feature exclusive to Shanghai Disneyland (as seen on TV). ⑧ Castle Lighting Around 7 PM, the castle was beautifully lit up. By 8 PM, people were already gathering around the castle for the fireworks. ⑨ Pooh's Hunny Hunt In the evening, Pooh's Hunny Hunt had shorter lines. With no height restrictions, this adorable attraction lets you immerse yourself in Pooh's world, making it a hit with kids. ⑩ Castle Fireworks At 8 PM, we enjoyed the castle fireworks. While they can be seen from afar, the projection mapping on the castle's lower section makes it worth finding a closer spot next time. The fireworks were grand and stunning. After the show, many people headed for the exit, causing some congestion. However, since the metro station is the starting point, it wasn't overly crowded, and we managed to get seats on the way back. 🟠 Final Thoughts We had a full day of fun from 10 AM to 8 PM. Even with attractions and shows that have no height restrictions, there's plenty to enjoy at Disneyland. We visited in June, which seemed like an ideal season. July, August, and September might be too hot, while June's rainy season makes April, May, October, and November better options for Shanghai's climate. Looking forward to visiting Disneyland again soon!
