My 3-Day Trip to Jiujiang: A Truly Honest Review
Hey everyone👋! I recently spent three days in Jiujiang and put together a super detailed guide to share with anyone planning a trip there. Without further ado, let's get to the good stuff👇
Preparation📖
Book your hotel🏨 in advance online. I recommend choosing one in the city center or near the attractions for convenient travel. Check the weather forecast🌤 and pack appropriate clothing. Remember to bring essential items like your ID card, student ID (for discounts), charger, umbrella, etc.
Itinerary🚗
Day 1: Gantang Lake - Yanshui Pavilion - Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge
Morning: After arriving in Jiujiang, check in to your hotel and drop off your luggage🧳. After a short rest, head to Gantang Lake. The lake is crystal clear and sparkling. Take a stroll🚶♀️ along the shore, feel the gentle breeze, and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. The lakeside is shaded by lush trees, and you'll see many locals enjoying leisure activities🎣.
Lunch: Have lunch at a restaurant near Gantang Lake and try Jiujiang's specialty - Jiujiang radish cake🥮. The crust is crispy, the filling is soft and glutinous, and the radish flavor is intense. One is simply not enough!
Afternoon: Next, visit Yanshui Pavilion, located in the middle of Gantang Lake. It boasts a rich history and classic architecture. Here, you can learn about Jiujiang's history and culture, admire the lake and scenery, and take amazing photos📷.
Evening: Head to the Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge to watch the sunset🌅. Standing on the bridge, feeling the river breeze, and taking in the magnificent view of the Yangtze River is truly breathtaking. At sunset, the sky turns orange-red, it's stunningly beautiful. After watching the sunset, have dinner nearby and try the Yangtze River fish🐟, known for its delicious taste.
Day 2: Mount Lu Scenic Area (Hanpokou - Five Old Men Peak - Sandie Spring)
Morning: Get up early and go to Mount Lu Scenic Area. I recommend taking the sightseeing bus up the mountain🚠 to save energy. The first stop is Hanpokou, the best place to view Poyang Lake. Standing at Hanpokou, you can see Poyang Lake stretching out before you, where the water meets the sky, it's a magnificent sight🌊.
Late Morning: From Hanpokou, head to Five Old Men Peak. The peak consists of five peaks of varying shapes, resembling five old men sitting side by side👴. The climb can be a bit tiring, but when you reach the top and look out at the surrounding scenery, it's all worth it. The mountain scenery is beautiful, shrouded in clouds and mist, making you feel like you're in a fairyland🧚♀️.
Lunch: Have some snacks🍫 you brought with you at the rest stop near Five Old Men Peak to replenish your energy.
Afternoon: Head to Sandie Spring. The waterfall at Sandie Spring is magnificent, cascading down from the mountain and splashing up layers of water💦. The saying, "Its torrent dashes down three thousand feet, a suspected Milky Way falling from the Ninth Heaven," truly captures its grandeur. You'll need to climb many steps to reach Sandie Spring, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes👟.
Evening: Descend the mountain and return to the hotel to rest. After a day of physical activity, take some time to relax. Have a light dinner near the hotel, such as clay pot soup🥣, which is both nutritious and delicious.
Day 3: Xunyang Tower - Pipa Pavilion
Morning: Visit Xunyang Tower, named after Jiujiang's ancient name, Xunyang. It's a typical Song Dynasty-style tower. Ascend Xunyang Tower for a panoramic view of the Yangtze River and Jiujiang city, and immerse yourself in the historical atmosphere. Inside the tower, there are many exhibits related to Water Margin📜, a must-see for literature lovers.
Lunch: Have lunch at the snack street near Xunyang Tower and try Jiujiang tea cakes🍪, a sweet and delicious traditional local pastry.
Afternoon: Head to Pipa Pavilion, built in memory of Bai Juyi's poem, "Pipa Song." The pavilions and towers are classic and elegant, surrounded by beautiful scenery. Inside the pavilion, you can almost hear the melodious music🎶 played by the pipa player from the poem.
After that, pack your bags and prepare for your return trip~
Things to Note⚠️
