Outstanding Hotel Experience Worth Every Star
This is, without a doubt, the best hotel we've ever stayed at—faultless in every way! Initially, we were slightly worried after reading reviews before our first trip to Tenerife, as we usually visit Lanzarote. However, WOW—this was a 5-star experience through and through!
We arrived around midday, but our room wasn’t ready until 3 PM. A tip: pack pool attire in your hand luggage so you can relax by the pool upon arrival. We headed to the buffet for lunch and then familiarized ourselves with the hotel layout. The wristband with a built-in chip for room access and charges is genius—no need to carry around a room key!
The food was incredible. Even our picky-eating son had no trouble finding meals. The buffet offered plenty of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all fresh and flavorful. The snack bar was equally great with versatile choices. We also tried the Italian and steak restaurants. The steaks at Ladon were divine—perfectly cooked, generous portions. Drinks were another highlight; the cocktails, fresh water stations, slushies, milkshakes, beer, wine, and sangria were all fantastic. Lunchtime and dinner drinks are served directly to your table, even in the buffet.
The entire hotel was spotless, with cleaners constantly maintaining all areas. Having stayed in several high-end hotels in the Canary Islands, this one’s cleanliness truly stood out. The pools were pristine and, contrary to some reviews, not cold, even with the breeze. Tiles around the pool didn’t seem slippery, although we stayed cautious after prior reviews. Fresh pool towels were available daily, and there were plenty of sunbeds and parasols, with reserving spots in the morning not being an issue. While large inflatables weren’t allowed, smaller pool toys like noodles were fine.
Our son thoroughly enjoyed activities like the foam party, water carpet, orange slide, and the splash zone for younger kids, all under the supervision of friendly lifeguards offering pool noodles to children. The entertainment team ensured there was always something fun happening. Our son loved the teen loft, spending mornings there, and the games room was also entertaining (though slightly pricey). Facilities like the gym and football pitch were excellent as well.
The family master suite was fantastic—spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped with daily restocking of the minibar. Housekeeping was top-notch with regular fresh towels and cleaning. We were on the fifth floor in Block 2, facing the castle, which offered stunning balcony views. The air-conditioning worked perfectly as long as the balcony doors remained closed.
The on-site shop was a bit pricey but well-stocked. Conveniently, there are more affordable shops and restaurants just outside the hotel and in nearby San Blas and the marina, all within a 15-minute walk. The castle shop was also slightly expensive but had great options for kids.
Evening entertainment was impressive, with booked shows at the theater and a fantastic light-animation display on the castle. Performances at the tree on Thursdays and musical acts on the terrace were delightful too. Managing reservations and schedules through the app was highly efficient.
We ventured to the Karting Club Tenerife, just a short €15 taxi ride away, which both my husband and son loved. Walking excursions to San Blas and the marina were also enjoyable and easy. Taxis to the airport cost €16, and nearby bus services provided convenient access to larger towns.
Overall, this hotel exceeded all expectations, and we’d return in a heartbeat. Experiences may vary, but ours was flawless. A side note: Tenerife South Airport was hectic upon arrival, with long and disorganized passport queues. The family lanes eased things slightly. For departure, we recommend arriving at least 3 hours early, as queues can be intense. Knowing your boarding area beforehand helps avoid last-minute stress.
This was an amazing holiday—truly a place we’d revisit without hesitation. 😊
